  1. I would, but then I like things done properly .
  2. No on mine position 2 is for water temperature and position 3 is for turning the immersion on/off. I guess having water heating via the EASHP doesn't allow cooling for some reason. Maybe there is some physical reason that prevents the EASHP swapping from heating water to cooling air.
  3. Glad you're still planning to do it. My frame price was essentially all the wood work including internal studwork, metal web joists and upstairs 22mm caberdek.
  4. I don't seem to have that option which surprises me as I would have assumed the Combi would have a similar MVHR and EASHP.
  5. Does your unit have heating and cooling set up on your Genvex Optima controller or did you alter the settings on the unit?
  6. When I was moving my shed a shrew was carrying leaves into a hole under the slab. When I took the slab up there was no sign of the shrew just a neat little nest.
  7. The ph15 system looks as though it was developed from the construction used for our portal timber I-beam frame erected in 2010. Our house frame was the second of that design built in the country. The frame which consisted of the sole plate, frames, racking and external rafters along with erection was just over £36000. We used Isoquick insulated foundations and Icynene wall and roof insulation along with external Rockwool insulation.
  8. I guess SW Water didn't look at the site plans and assumed your plot was Glendower. As there is an access point to the C/150/VC near your entrance and it appears to run to the side of your drive I don't know why there would be a problem.
  9. I don't like tea either. I'll drink tea or coffee if out visiting but never at home. I am partial to a hot chocolate occasionally especially the dark ones.
  10. I don't like the stuff.
  11. Kent CC have recently started charging at their contractor run tips for rubble, soil, plasterboard and car tyres. I think there is going to be a challenge to the charges as being illegal, don't suppose anything will come of it.
  12. We had the same problem with the oil boiler flue in the old bungalow. I wrapped stainless steel mesh around it, as @Onoff has suggested.
  13. Hope you're feeling better now. Thanks for the link. My son-in-law's friend is the sparky who signed off my house installation and will sign off this work. The supply is indeed PME (TN-C-S) according to the sticker. The three core 6mm2 SWA is connected to the house CU through a 45A RCBO and is connected to a temporary box on a post in the garden at the moment feeding the sewage treatment plant. I will be moving it from the post to the shed. Are you saying I could use the SWA earth and a TT earth together, without problems as the TT is just another PME earth?
  14. Welcome to the forum and ask away.
  15. Thanks for all the advice. Are there any comments on the video suggestions?
  16. I have a 6mm2 three core SWA cable that I am running to my shed from the CU in the house. The supply to the house is TN-C-S. I was planning to use one of the cores as the earth and also the steel wire as the earth. I watched a video where it states that it is ok in most instances to use a two core and use the steel wire as the earth. In my case it is more complicated as my shed is metal. In the video it states for TN-C-S the earth should be 10mm2 for a metal shed but doesn’t explicitly say that it can be made up of 6mm2 copper core and the steel wire. I could use an earth rod for the shed but as he says on the video why bother when the DNO provides a perfectly good earth. What is the view of my plan? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvENsVUhDUs
  17. @susieo Hi, welcome to the forum. Is the problem with the polycarbonate roof that the room over heats or that the roof leaks?
  18. Why not have the outdoor unit sitting on the path and have longer pipes fitted behind the cladding?
  19. We use a pack of blocks around every 3 to 4 weeks and pay £5 a pack from our local supplier. We bought our Harveys Crown from https://www.fountainsofteners.co.uk/harveys-crown-water-softener-twin-tank-non-electric-15mm-installation-kit-c2x17510096 How much salt used will depend upon water hardness and usage. Our hardness is around 320ppm.
  20. Ran ours through conduit which we cable tied to the metal webs.
  21. We have Rehau Geneo insulated frames with 3G. They're still doing their job seven years later.
  22. I think you were probably unlucky with your TF build. We have a portal timber I-beam frame and have vaulted ceilings upstairs in some rooms. We don't have any movement or creaking but as you say it's not a good idea to change plans half way through with a TF.
  23. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the project.
