So... we had invoices / receipts in the name of the plumber and joiner, where we had paid the supplier direct, they had our name or first line of address or something that referenced it was for our job. We added in our covering letter to the VAT man, something like, "invoice numbers x,y,and z, are in the account name of our tradesman, as the suppliers would only deal with the trade, but let us order through their account. We paid for these ourselves, and if requested we can provided evidence of payment be it bank statements or credit card statements." First rule:- if you don't ask you don't get. Second rule:- Don't include anything you definitely know is incorrect as this is fraud. This includes VAT on delivery, tools, other stuff, that you can score out on a receipt. If you are unsure, include, including offer to include supporting evidence if required. There is a slight difference, inasmuch as you paid "the builder" and not the supplier, but if HMRC knock it back you, then have the clout to go to the builder and get him to sort it out, by supplying a VAT invoice for the amount you paid him for the goods.

No reason not to fit them, then, I take it you have them on site, and the brickie's know what they are. Surprised they left the inner blocks out as well.

Take a photo of you using the meter, and keep, just in the remote chance BCO questions, and a photo of the cert. Has the Testo Vent got a Hood / Funnel ?
-
The was by the time we got to that stage, BCO and warranty had the confidence we were doing thing properly. We had "about 2 weeks" work to do for about 14 months. And still have, having moved in just a year ago. When asked about completion we used to say it's more complete than a [insert well known developer] house.
-
Welcome. If you have got this far, commissioning the MVHR will not be a problem. It will take a couple of people a couple a day or so to do it properly. We were going to install ours our self but we were in the middle of lock down, so the ducting was installed by the plumbers step dad, who happened to work for a H&V company. We [me and my lad] set ours up with a Testi 405i we bought of amazon, with a home made hood/tube [similar to that that can be found in some of the forums here]. We completed all the forms [which were on the back of part F]. We got the plumbers step dad to "sign it off" and he used his Gas Safe Number in the box for "Registration number (if applicable)". We also managed to borrow a UKAS calibrated Anemometer for a bit, so we could use the cert number. Building inspector probably never even looked at the form. And would definitely not check UKAS calibration certificates. Have a look through the threads in the MVHR section, lots of useful information here. First question to you what's the airflow meter model?

The sentinel has "low supply" settings that can be programmed for overnight.

MVHR Condensate Drain
Blooda replied to richo106's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
Not a daft question at all, the configuration Is not entirely clear, and I think there is bit of translation error. In the darkened loft reading the instructions, I initially took the vertical discharge and horizontal discharge as being the configuration of the extract duct to outside. Vertical is where the extract to outside is where the spigot is from the top [as supplied] Horizontal is where you moved the extraction spigot to the side. but that didn't make sense. And tech support were not entirely clear either but did say you only need one. Configuration:- 22mm with a fall to near the Hepvo [copy] One of these:- Then 32mm connected to the Hepvo Hepvo 32mm pipe to 110m strap boss to downpipe A few clips along the way. And insulated if in a cold loft. January 22 prices, That Strap Boss is now £8.88 - 39% Increase -

MVHR Condensate Drain
Blooda replied to richo106's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
First thing to make sure on the vent axia is to connect to the right drain on the machine. There are 2x condensate drain positions - one if you are configured with vertical discharge, and one if you are configured with horizontal discharge. They are both there, so it is easy to pick the wrong one. The picture your showing is for the vertical discharge. I did as you say and run mine in 22mm until near the vertical waste then went up to 32mm for valve and the last bit to the waste stack. You can buy a Hepvo for £36.88 https://www.toolstation.com/osma-hepvo-pp-waste-valve-wt/p87210 or alternative for £15.93 https://www.toolstation.com/viva-magna-self-sealing-waste-valve/p82878 -
Just some thoughts ? What is the route from the utility room to outside to hang your washing up? What is the route from the garden to w/c. Is the "ent" the main entrance? or is there another. Do you need the door between utility and "ent" Outside window in W/C is nice, we had one in the last house. When we built here, we ended up with no room for a window so had a transom window over the door, gives enough light should you forget [not have enough time] to switch the light on.

What is your %age setting for Humidity ? Default is 70% Are you running at normal or low at night ? -
We used a 4G before we moved in, but that was only for the CCTV, and the mobile signal is rubbish here so it had to go in the loft, and then we could only access the WIFI in certain rooms. Do they actually use much that cannot be tethered to a phone hot spot ? Also Tesco do a family thing [others may do so as well]- Family SIM Deals | Mobile Phone Family Plans | Tesco Mobile £70 per month for 5 sims unlimited - and 1 can go into the 4g router. Seems expensive but add what you are paying now including landline and the kids phones. On an aside, building the house will do wonders for their education, you will hear "I can't help now I have homework to do" 🤣

Just a thought.... have they put the glass panel in the wrong way? depending on where or which piece of glass is tinted, could cause a different appearance.
-
Definitely need to find the route in. We had one [rat] trapped in our detached garage for a week, we believe it had got in via an unused waste pipe, and once we blocked it off it could not get out. Also needs to be combined effort with the neighbours, you don't want them poisoning the rat for it to die in your loft. I can recommend these:- Pest-Stop Plastic & Metal Battery-Powered Rat Killer - Screwfix

Your favourite cheap gloves for painting (and for gardening)?
Blooda replied to Adsibob's topic in Tools & Equipment
Use HydraHyde gloves from Costco for gardening etc. Can't find a link on their website, but same as these. WELLS LAMONT HydraHyde Water Resistant Leather Work Gloves Size UK XL : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools Around £22 for 3 pairs in the Costco Warehouse, sometimes come on offer. They have outlasted most garden centre gloves. -
Don't underestimate glue. We used Adiseal in a couple of places for runs of stud walling that we were unsure of the exact location of the under floor pipes. Adiseal brands Denmans As test, we stuck a 1 foot piece of CLS to the screed flooring, left it a few days, to cure. Hit it with a hammer, and it didn't move. So got a sledge hammer, and hit it. the wood broke, It left 1/8" of wood stuck to the floor. Concluding the glue was stronger than the wood. you could use in conjunction with the screws.

Howdens vs DIY Kitchens - which one to go for?
Blooda replied to johnhenstock83's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
We used Howdens for the carcasses. a Localish show room for the electrical appliances, Sinks from someplace online. A local supplier for the Quartz tops, [half the price of Howden's] Handles from handles4u [saving about £100 on Howden's price] We used Howdens as they are near, and generally have stuff in stock, and will take stuff back, we used the Joiners account. We paid Howden's by card, and then explained in the covering VAT letter why the invoice had his name on it. -
