My late father used to do diamond core drilling for a living many years ago . The jig comes with the drill . You bolt that to the wall ; insert the drill . Check it’s all level and off you go . It was ( of course ) hilti gear . https://www.hilti.co.uk/content/hilti/E1/GB/en/products/homepage-and-new-products/diamond-coring/diamond-drilling.html

You can set this with ToU . Better still if you add the mod bus interface ( 500 quid ish ) you can control it through HA . I only do it manually so I can adjust per day based on weather , SWMBO , EV charge etc etc . Its all part of the experiment!!

Se and pw both have ‘self consumption’ modes I.e they will charge / discharge to suit demand .pw is in this mode ( don’t think you can disable it ) . Se can be manually set in this mode . If it is they can in certain circumstances’fight’ and steal from each other - this was my issue at the start of this thread . To avoid this we manually charge / discharge se . pw max output sustained is 5kw . More than that it takes from pv then if still not enough grid . If I set se to discharge then a sustained output of 8.6kwh is achieved by their combined outputs

SE is charge / discharge on my command . PW meets my load requirements - if you see what I mean
-
Pw meets any demand in the day . So we’re ok upto 5kwh . If demand exceeds that it will use as much PV as it needs . I can manually do all kinds of things like cope with a load of over 8kwh - but that’s rare

I was the piss poor builder 🤣

Afraid I can’t help you . My SE over spec’d our beam by 350% !! . I did go mental with him . I believe SE’s over spec massively on a regular basis . Of course this then creates issues like you have ( not to mention increased costs of course )

All is very well in multi verse So! 00h to 11h SE is set to only charge from clipped solar ( anything over 3.68 ). So PW gets main pv generation 11h to 16h SE is set to charge off pv . Its max rate is 5kwh . So anything over that goes to PW . Effectively we’ve swapped the trickle At some point before 16h everything will be 100% full . We export at 25p kwH 16h to 19h Set SE to export ( it will supplement any pv ) . PW will at some point begin export as we are in flux peak time band Exporting at around 35p kwH After 19h . Exporting stops . SE will discharge into PW . Enough to get us through the night . Rinse and repeat . 😎

Yes ! “ Black n Gold all the way ! “ Reminds me of a specialist film I watched once … -
@Thorfun - I will genuinely have 1 of these spare soon if you are interested https://www.alertelectrical.com/stephen-p-wales-1-20p-coin-token-meter-tim30.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjw36GjBhAkEiwAKwIWySaPWoTO9Ife9sOvMT8qya4_KT0czRLdoxlsOn3UTgSFxL-HmnfBmRoCxHAQAvD_BwE I know you want / need one

You better put a timer on that shower - you know ; to save money

Today though due to wank pot algorithm it’s not doing what I want . Really would like a “ (expletive deleted) off just do it button “ . For 1 hour I exported just excess solar ; why ? ; who knows ! Anyway ! Changed it now my flux ‘peak’ export starts from 15h not 16h ; also I bang the SolarEdge battery into export mode from 16h until 19h . Want to max out my export at peak rate !

Enjoying flux 35p ( ish ) for 52kwh = £ 18.20 When you factor in the ‘earnings ‘ , the fact it’s powering your house , charging an EV ( only 4000 miles per yr ) . ROI ( as some of you are obsessed with that ) gets considerably better .

Seriously . With correct lighting ( not office style ) it looks ok . You get use to it and tend not to look at the ceiling anymore than you would in any house . Lots of positives; visuals no , not the best . -

Suspended ceiling benefits : Lightweight Easy to install No plastering No painting Access to pipes/cables Easy to add sound proofing Easy to add and move lighting Easy to add ceiling speakers etc. Probably cheaper than ‘traditional’ ceiling What’s your problem ? -

@Thorfun you know what I’m going to say …. -
Get kids and misses to piss in bucket and empty once a day - super water efficient. You still trying to save 25 quid ?
