@Thorfun . You know what to do . Avoid all this fuss and extra cost and go with the obvious and easy solution . -
👍😉

And noise in the other direction 😉 -

Yeah I know . Everyone’s a programmer but no one’s a software engineer these days …..

What I really want is no ToU but all logic based . If SE.battery < 60% then SE.discharge () endif Or whatever shitty high level language numpty world is currently using .

Actually- I thought about what you posted . It is success through failure . The biggest obstacle in life is yourself . Contrary to what others may believe from my posts I punish myself far more for errors or when something isn’t “ quite good enough “ ( but in fairness is better than most trades ) . It’s an attitude that one must take through life . Trying , failing, taking risk , failing ; sometimes success ! Must go and talk to my shrink now .

I had no experience or knowledge. My architect had no experience or knowledge. Yet here I am 😊 You got this ! Plans please !!! 👍

As incredible as it sounds when I was a teenager I would go with my dad on jobs ( yes I learnt nothing ) . Once I recall at airbus we had to core a 3 metre hole ( tunnel more like ) at a specific angle through reinforced concrete . Rig bolted to wall . Drill back then was mofo heavy and needed 2 of us to get it up there . Took our time ( water pumped to the tip ) . Would have taken a few hours . But we took all day so my old man could charge 3k ! - that must of been 35 yrs ago . But no one else could achieve that and certainly not at that price . It was super specialised gear at the time . I got paid 30 quid 🙄🤣

My late father used to do diamond core drilling for a living many years ago . The jig comes with the drill . You bolt that to the wall ; insert the drill . Check it’s all level and off you go . It was ( of course ) hilti gear . https://www.hilti.co.uk/content/hilti/E1/GB/en/products/homepage-and-new-products/diamond-coring/diamond-drilling.html

You can set this with ToU . Better still if you add the mod bus interface ( 500 quid ish ) you can control it through HA . I only do it manually so I can adjust per day based on weather , SWMBO , EV charge etc etc . Its all part of the experiment!!

Se and pw both have ‘self consumption’ modes I.e they will charge / discharge to suit demand .pw is in this mode ( don’t think you can disable it ) . Se can be manually set in this mode . If it is they can in certain circumstances’fight’ and steal from each other - this was my issue at the start of this thread . To avoid this we manually charge / discharge se . pw max output sustained is 5kw . More than that it takes from pv then if still not enough grid . If I set se to discharge then a sustained output of 8.6kwh is achieved by their combined outputs

SE is charge / discharge on my command . PW meets my load requirements - if you see what I mean
-
Pw meets any demand in the day . So we’re ok upto 5kwh . If demand exceeds that it will use as much PV as it needs . I can manually do all kinds of things like cope with a load of over 8kwh - but that’s rare
