  1. Bit of an engineering project just doing the decking . The access chamber is below the finished decking level . Rather than attempt to get it mm perfect I went looking for a hatch that perhaps has a flange , I.e sits on the surrounding decking rather than in it . Couldn’t find anything … ; does it even exist ?
  2. That’s not fair on the gold (brown) fish . It needs a fighting chance .
  3. Must admit I was confused by this . If I do a 💩 - does it hit the gold fish ?
  4. Yeah . I’ll fill the web space for me . Gripfill timbers in ( done that before - rock solid ) . Bit of tile backer board on face - then a few tiles . At the moment I don’t want to do it because ( in another thread ) I want to make sure stair company fix directly to the steel .
  5. Brushed sbr on the exposed gaps . Chucked a bit in the cement mix , also added some fibres . Looks fine - no chance of slumping . Doesn’t need to be perfect . This area is where the staircase apron will fit and associated balustrade
  6. @Thorfun you’d better not be trying to save 4 quid by using the same blade you’ve had for 15 years !
  7. Care = false if (Care) then do_something(); else do_feck_off();
  8. @Onoff this one’s for you https://fb.watch/kW_hYMP1fl/
  9. Try changing the f ing blade 😉
  10. There’s your issue . Non professional using non professional tool . 👍😎
  11. Thanks for the hidden tag . As a professional I would suggest you man up and use a multi tool . The black n gold ones are best . Boom 🤯
  12. Bit by bit then ? Build it up ?
  13. Should I keep going back to it if it slumps and ‘ push’ it back in ? . Or is the objective to do it once and leave it ?
  14. Shuttered this . Went pretty well - but some gaps where concrete didn’t slump enough . Did ‘chop’ it with a trowel . Best way to fill these and not slump and fall out ? Just a stiff concrete mix ???
  15. Goodies for me !
  16. Aka “ doing a schofield “
  17. No . I’d like that .
  18. If you do it nothing will happen . If you don’t then Sod’s Law will work . Prevention is best 👍. For a small fee I can stand there naked to deter people . It’s not the first time .
  19. I did think you can get padlock type covers for tap outlets . Failing that stick a locked box over it ( serious suggestion btw )
  20. Cctv , gun , taser , naked man . These are slightly unhelpful suggestions I know .
  21. That’s what you need to sort for your marriage / ceiling sake 😎 ( I’m not helpful , I know that )
  22. Your fault 🤣
  23. Indeed . Delusional aspirations of building a house also .
  24. I started this thread ! So NO grumpy old men ! . Young virile girlies yes ….
  25. True . My SE confirmed in general he over spec’d by 350% .. wtf ! For my foundation insulation ( concrete raft ) I had a spec . I called around and just couldn’t get any product at that level . Finally a guy said to me “ are you building a 10 storey ncp car park ? “ . I said no . He then told me to tell my SE to (expletive deleted) off and half the requirement . This I did . SE lowered the spec ‘ over the phone ‘ to half what was required ; which I could find at a sensible price .
