  1. +1 on silicone grease, NOT silicone spray. Been using it for years on F and co-ax connectors and crimp connectors of all sorts. I dip the stripped wire into the grease then put the crimp on. I dip crimp spades into it too before putting together. Just using it now where the rear wash wipe spindle passes through the rear screen in the Golf. Battery terminals on the cars... The lads at work use it on the actuator spindles in fan coil units too. I use silicone spray on some plumbing stuff and the door seals on the car
  2. How long is your trench?# Didn't read your first post properly (man flu starting)! If you want some yellow warning tape pm me your address and the length req'd.
  3. 45 seconds...that'd be thought of as instantaneous here!
  4. If they're digging 600mm deep then gradually slope your trench near the road to meet theirs.
  5. Erm...current info on their site: https://www.enwl.co.uk/get-connected/new-connection/1-4-properties-or-single-connections-up-to-60kva/pay--plan2/
  6. Fitting two, (first I've ever done) bog standard, upvc 2G windows and I'd rate Compriband over gun foam all day long. The majority of our 2G windows appear to have been fitted with enormous gaps and not even foamed. Just some of that pig to get off trim. I think there was a 1" gap at the top of the bathroom one. I hate to think what a FLIR on my place would look like.
  7. Stick a TARDIS door on any house and it'll look big when you go inside!
  8. Might be something written on the tails faintly that will tell you the spec and diameter.
  9. You can get some real steals on Gumtree on these stair lifts. Let's face it a lot of people have them put in and "don't need them for long" Many relatives just want rid. Or the new house comes with one they don't won't. When my brother was in plaster for 12 weeks recently I looked at it but he didn't want to go that route. Just an example, even one on there for £50: https://www.gumtree.com/p/mobility-disability-medical/stairlift-by-meditex/1274413784 An old work colleague now services them so I can ask him ref makes etc.
  10. Not sure if anything here is any good "LED" wise . I've had a few random bits off of them, cases, chargers etc. The AGL stuff I'm referring to. https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=Agl Not sure on the motion sensor wc light!
  11. You're gonna love me forever then! @Grosey, unless I missed it, where did you live during the build?
  12. Great stuff! That look on Rodger's face with his ball that says "So you'll have time to play with ME now?"
  13. That did cross my mind...
  14. There are people yet to find plots who will finish before I do...
  15. If you remember, Christmas 2016 came and went without divorce so I reckon I'm good! Lot of other stuff going on (ill health mainly, amongst family & friends) so the bathroom seemed like a good place to hide at the mo!
  16. Somebody needs to get their ar$e in gear...
  17. Never far away from a beer in my pics!
  18. They're not cheap are they those guns!
  19. Staple gun is what you want to search for: http://hire.travisperkins.co.uk/hire/productDetails.asp?levelID=280&i=6&img=1862
  20. And that's why I'll never make any real money!
  21. Erm...yes! Lack of dead testing is why this sort of thing can happen. Not being condescending either. Anyone seriously interested get a copy of the IET's Guidance Note 3. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of proper electricians who don't bother. I said to one on site "You not going to test that?" to which he replied "You can chuck a Martindale at it if you want!"
  22. Here & see @Nickfromwales link:
  23. Not taking the pi$$ but did you do dead testing or just hope for the best? I've had duff T&E off a new roll.
  24. Can you reroute to the fitting say from the other side of the wall if not tiled?
