Not the first time he's heard that...

I think there should be a Top Gear style leader board. It'd give something for others to aspire to.

0.25...you'll all suffocate!

Enjoyed reading that.

A thread here ref cooling first link. It's @NSS who has glass that tints / darkens automatically (electrochromic?) linked to solar gain etc. Then the Sageglass thread:

Welcome. I too have an oil boiler here and am shortly going to have to do something to get my as yet just one single UFH loop running. My place is a refurb, as I go, one room at a time type deal. The boiler here short cycles as it is enough but I think that's due to mutiple heat loss issues; unlagged pipes, plasterboard tent etc. A TS, buffer etc has been discussed for me before now. For now I'm just siting a manifold centrally in the house and working from there. Haven't got a clue on your problem but the brains of the collective here will be along shortly!

And the faux pas' keep coming! Happy enough with these few: The 5 full tiles to the left are within a mm of the (white) wall so that's good. Finished the shallowest pocket bar the grouting. Trickier the I thought. The thicker grout lines between the mosaics might stand out when grouted: Didn't achieve the aimed for 1mm gap at the top either side. It's OK though down the sides and the sill. However..... Takes a deep breath.....from about here: The tile strip, above the bath pocket, is a bit out: And the other end: Which translates to a tile a 1/4" 'ish out: (Sounds so much better than 8mm.. ). So I'll have to kick the next tile down in a bit...quite a bit in fact. The trim there will be fun.

2 gang IP67 Quinetic switch will go somewhere here: One gang to dim downlights, the other to switch pocket lights and bath pocket strip on/off...maybe! Still debating spraying it!

I went into TLC today to look at one of these...they didn't have any in stock to look at.

Just to note with "asphalt" that as I alluded to I think above it comes in different grades as in for roofs, to drive on (in delivery bays etc).

So that what, dumps to the return?

This is the wiring diagram of what I have that I knocked up recently. Slightly modded so that the neutrals to the 2-ports now go through the contactors so the 2-port valves are in effect DP switched. I'm thinking no boiler overun here?
-
You asked before and I don't know what that is...
-
I've bought the bloody 3-port already! You mean like this? Plus I don't do well doing things on the fly, I have to consider & plan etc. Not the thing when the house is freezing and it needs to be up and running asap. Boiler stat tripping, no don't think so.

That's what I do tbh. Unravel the 8 a bit so they're nice and flat then cut across all 8 dead level.

I once watched a guy at college try and make of a Pyro end maybe 6 times. The length he had was from the same reel we were all using. Every time he tested it the IR was way down. We were all using the same tools etc. Maybe he was a bit sweaty that day? In the end on his 4th or 5th time we, all finished, sat and watched him. Couldn't fault the technique so why???

Olives, I need to get some 28mm olives, "just in case" for when I change some 2-port and a 3-port valves over, the question is brass or copper olives and why? Cheers

Getting myself in a tizzy here about what's doing what but I've got a heating circuit coming on as in downstairs rads warm when the controls are only calling for DHW. The 2 2-ports are operated by a contactor each and they're NOT calling the valve. That must mean not only is the 3-port letting by but the downstairs 2-port also. Both show heavy 'ish leaking under the covers. Also, can't remember which way round but think the downstairs rads get warm when only upstairs is calling. That would fit the symptoms if the downstairs 2-port is letting by. Would ask my boiler guru mate but he's not well. I've got Honeywell replacements, best man up and do it!

Geberit frame and plate cheap in Romford: https://www.gumtree.com/p/plumbing-central-heating/geberit-concealed-toilet-cistern-and-actuator-plate/1320999660 -
Lucky it didn't topple into the house. Nasty bloody things!

Look at the attention to detail and quality of some people's builds here! They ARE not going to be happy even if it is a cosmetic detail. I'm a rough bugger and I wouldn't!

Steady with the euphemisms...family show and all that... Seriously, if the bulging doesn't affect the operation then all good. Better it bulges out than in and breaks something. It is though imo hugely annoying. At worst they'll lose potential customers to an alternative technology at best the customers might delay purchase until the issue is sorted. Must admit my first thought stemmed from dealing with swollen capacitors and lead acid batteries.....

What about if you fit it?
