  1. As an aside to that quirk of BT's service: We're on a crappy wired connection here speed wise but noted the other night that next door's WiFi signal is not far off as strong as ours. After a bit of time in the old interweb I came across a utility called Connectivity Dispatch PRO: Seems it pulls together all available wireless internet connections and increases your speed. Paid for unfortunately but it got me thinking. My boy, on his desktop is always whinging about the speed of his wired connection, having left behind a super fast Virgin connection at his uni digs. I wonder if, with a wireless WiFi adapter plugged in he could combine next door's WiFi? Ideally with a free utility!

    Gate Pillars

That's the jig done. See if it works tomorrow. How many courses can I lay in a day, as in how high? Wondering whether I'll get away without ties as I plan on filling it, top to bottom with wet concrete.
  3. My kinda guy! Welcome.
  4. Ah yes the car park in Crayford just down the road from me. MANY years ago in Dartford they had a Woolworths with a huge basement. Great toy department I remember. Once when the Darent overflowed there were large fish swimming around in there.
  5. So how much buoyancy would a square metre of 300mm thick give if untethered? How about a shed cum hovercraft?
  6. Vertical soil stack not brought internal and out under the slab when doing the new bathroom. Would have greatly simplified later ewi.
  7. Don't think so. The "yellow" needs to be continuous with no break.
  8. I'm a bit anal even about the plastic pipes I can't see being straight! All hidden now:
  9. Using Hep2O is a doddle tbh. DON'T FORGET THE PIPE INSERTS! Push fit, whether Hep2O or JG Speedfit can look a bit untidy if the pipes are on show.
  10. 3000 photos later I've finished my bathroom. Helped at every turn by the good folk on here: Probably best start at page 31 and work forward in time...
  11. You could build it on a base that would float upwards. Maybe with some tethers or 4 retaining posts that it slides up within.
  12. Had BT here twice adopt their default position of first suggesting their tests indicate the fault is within my property and only attending site if I agreed to £150 or whatever charge should this be the case. Subsequently found to be 2km away from the exchange etc. Both times I emailed them after having done IR tests from where their cable terminates high on the wall to the master socket.
  13. They're punching themselves in the wallet afaiac!
  14. Might be an invention of my own mind but whenever I'm in a group of guys and some have Apple devices, I seem to have issues connecting to the shared router. When the Apple guys aren't in and it's just lads with Android I seem to connect fine. Almost as if Apple somehow takes precedence.
  15. You might try dropping the cover plate in a cup of boiling water to soften things then pushing it on whilst still hot.
  16. Vaseline, KY, Durex Play...
  17. Try some silicon grease or similar lubricant. A dab of Mr Sheen at a push.
  18. Does it just slide off?
  19. Are there two cover plates, one for the mixer and one for the spout and you've them the wrong way round?
  20. Try undoing in the other direction. Might be opposite thread.
  21. Careful you match the gloss level. 30% gloss can look completely different to 60%.
  22. Does the black bit not just unscrew?
  23. Presumably you could cover an OSB roof with a tarp thinking you were doing the right thing if it was going to say rain but then get screwed by condensation under the tarp making everything damp?
  24. Are too. Still, we don't have to pay through the nose for the privilege of being disorganised. (More can't than don't... ).
