  1. Means I can listen to the radio without anyone else annoying. ?
  2. And you're coupling it with a Crapple device...
  3. But it's DeWalt...
  4. I'll look to extend the nom 100dia hard, grey plastic section coming off the back of the fan, looks like it'll solvent weld. Thinking then a strap boss, 45deg elbow to the 32mm dia pipe? Flexible duct onto the 100dia extension. All needs to be demountable if ever I need to change the fan. This fan was only meant anyway as a stop gap before eventual MVHR.
  5. How to test? Just "sniff" or something more exotic like coloured smoke?
  6. This is my fan. Couldn't really introduce anything to the inlet side...
  7. I was wondering whether I could introduce a Y shaped junction in my (currently flexible) extractor ducting or whether if the room extractor was on it'd blow back into the cistern/pan? My main bathroom lighting is 4 down lights on a Quinetic dimmer system. Because of the dimmer module I've put the extractor fan on the separate feature, (blue) lighting circuit that's on a Quinetic switched receiver. In two minds whether to introduce an occupancy sensor for the lights/fan. The extractor fan is imo quite noisy and as I say comes on when the feature lighting is switched on. It also has a humidistat so it comes on at 65% humidity independent of the mood lighting being on. Tbh I think I'd rather just the pan fan came on as required. Was considering whether if I took the fresnel lens off an occupancy sensor and mounted it directly above the WC it'd just "look down" at someone sitting on the loo... Or just a bog standard, occupancy sensor without any mods that just triggers the pan fan when you walk in and consider what else the switch can be used for later? Still fancy a very short range/restricted beam angle jobbie.
  8. It's been done. Have a look on Pinterest e.g. https://pin.it/baddy4dwojhajo
  9. Thinking on the lines of some wooden worktops have sloping grooves cut to say a Belfast sink. Could you cast similar I wonder. Tbh can't see why not. An idea with legs I reckon. ?
  10. Morticians are quite keen on this sort of detail I believe.
  11. Anyone know of a very short range PIR sensor that would only trigger when someone sits on the pan?
  12. I was only "sitting"' contemplating this this morning. I REALLY need to get my ar$e in gear and fit a fan to my unfinished pan take off system. My youngest has, on occasion, slid an A4 sheet under the door whilst I'm in there with the word "SMELLS!" scrawled with a Sharpie. 32mm solvent weld fitting into the top of the Geberit cistern. (Not sure tba whether this will impede servicing but I can always multi-tool it flush). At the mo the take off pipe just ends in the loft:
  13. Sought after? Presumably chassis rot can be a big issue?
  14. That era Cortina was all about a soft and comfy rather than sporty cornering. The Focus suspension set up is renowned for being very good in even standard form. The ST170 just made it better. Light years away from the one dimensional, rear leafed set up on the Capri though I love them! You can at least feel the "it's gonna go" point with the Capri. Thinking now I might get this cross member galvanised coating if I can get it done at mate's rates.
  15. What mark would an F reg (1967) Landover be?
  16. I found a rat chewed copy of the Karma Sutra under the suspended floor in one of the bedrooms here!
  17. One of my pieces I made as an apprentice. This was rusted solid, stiff and otherwise fit for the bin. Came out of the bath yesterday and tbh I should have oiled it straight away. A few minutes back in the tank will get rid of the flash rust: (I even made the knurling tool that knurled the screws. Trying to find that).
  18. Why do anything? Keeps the old grey matter ticking over. The day I stop thinking...or is that over thinking? Why collect bottle caps, why start making a table with them set in 2 part resin? ?
  19. They handle really well and it's a FORD!
  20. Thinking to mount the bath up on 4 bits of slot together scaffold. Maybe a couple of bits of Unistrut lengthways if the bath feet don't sit right. Fill it up with 160L water. Then a quick homemade solar thermal panel o/of some leftover Pex-Al-Pex. Got a scrap OSB board I can mount it on and paint black. I could really go to town and frame it, glaze it and even insulate! Let it do its thing and thermosyphon. All out of scrap of course The first worry is maintaining 65degC?
  21. Going for 19:1 for the big bath solution for the cross member 10kg of citric acid ordered tonight. Based on: 4:1 by volume = 250g / 1L 19:1 by volume = 250g / 4.75L Required volume is 1200 x 400 s 350 so 168L thus just under 9kg at 19:1 Should be here Wednesday.
  22. The painter's work was all in vain The bog wall writer strikes again!
