  1. You can get that from cows!
  2. PIR is "gritty" to cut. The Bacho wave form saw (similar form to the circular saw blade link I posted) makes a worse job on PIR than the Celotex toothed one which tbh is really fantastic in terms of ease and accuracy. The Bacho is harder work imo. Not too bad on 50mm but wanders more on 100mm.
  3. You cant say that, you'll come across as homophobic / non pc! ? Anyway, I like making cakes.
  4. We put food scraps on the lawn ostensibly for the birds/badger/fox so we can hardly blame the numerous rats for helping themselves. Doesn't have to be under cover of darkness either they're bold enough to come out in daylight. Then it's back under my suspended floors or into the loft to sleep it off!
  5. I've Googled it and still none the wiser!
  6. If burning wet wood, can you condense then re burn the smoke?
  7. https://www.schneider-gmbh.com/en/produkte/tart-and-cake-saw-153500
  8. I cut studding with a 4 1/2" slitting disc and take the burr off / polish the end with a flap disc. No nut used. Wot he said...TART!
  9. I fancy making a wood gas generator...
  10. Is that block and beam? These? http://www.gordonproducts.co.uk/products/ceiling-clips-for-use-with-precast-beam-and-block-flooring-systems/
  11. Shot fired fixings?
  12. You look chuffed.
  13. Most convert old water tanks not build them from scratch. Be quicker to fill that way.
  14. So waste motor oil and MDF is still OK to burn? ?
  15. Control the energy, control the masses. If it wasn't all about control the powers that be would have pushed for super insulated, energy efficient housing stock, supported retrofit schemes etc. I honestly believe that.
  16. @Christine Walker have you actually done a simple triangle to know it's 42.5deg? Must be the camera angle but looks steeper.
  17. Wtf? Fugly and impractical! Surely it should have started against that wall with the window then turned 90 deg? Looks a steeper angle than regs allow?
  18. Just you wait till he rubs all the pencil marks off and paints the wall!
  19. Wiska One Gel is reassuringly expensive...and gas tight... https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/WKONEGEL.html
  20. The Germans seem to have it sussed:
  21. I have the Bacho insulation saw which has no serrations but a wave form sharp edge. Much less dust but I find the Celotex saw more accurate. https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/hand-saws-saw-blades-and-mitres/bahco-insulation-hand-saw-bahpc-22-ins/p/258703 Probably good on Rockwool batts?
  22. Brilliant too for trimming expanding foam.
  23. My hot wire cutter did cut the foil on Celotex...but not for very long...
  24. I did try making one with kanthal/nichrome wire. Certainly had merit but a bit smelly. I kept breaking the wire though. No dust is a bonus. Table saw with a really good dust extraction system is imo by far the best and most accurate. The slightest gaps defeat the object. Some advocate cutting 5mm or so shy of the gap if doing by hand and foam filling. I think we mulled on here making a bfo manual / push one based on a giant, super sharp/ thin pizza cutter type wheel.
