  1. You can get Sika CD Anti Lime Coating. My understanding that it is to simply seal a surface to stop it leaching lime. Whether Sikaflex would stick to that? If in doubt SBR would be my goto for sealing...
  2. Bit of a discussion here might be of interest to some: https://all3dp.com/1/free-autocad-viewers/
  3. Could you just bond the floor plates down? Maybe with some added screws just poking through the bottom of the floor plate (try and miss any UFH ?), like football boot studs almost, to give some shear resistance.
  4. No, not all units are the same depth. 20,24,28mm have been used over the years. A vacuum sucker can be helpful. When you put the unit back I put the short beads in first and finish with the long ones. Learnt my lesson doing a small fanlight when I put the long ones in first and had a bitch of a time trying to get the little ones in. That's how I learnt ths chisel trick!
  5. Chisel. If you're careful no damage: https://youtu.be/JLPXFjT5f1w

    Damp Walls

Could it be the cavity wall insulation causing the issue? Is the outside wall finish good/intact? No render up over the dpc then damp bridging the insulation? Bleach it all as above. Maybe fit some vents to thd new plinths to get some increased ventilation round the back?
  7. £16.20/50 for 200, https://www.tcfixings.co.uk/main/product/productinfo/10406/TIMco-Index-Timber-Screws-6.7x200-(Box-of-50)/1?
  8. I used a sharp chisel to pop my beads out. Sounds wrong but the sharp edge gets in the gap, the taper of the blade forces the bead out. Done with zero damage.

  11. Could you pour petrol or similar down and burn out the old bit?

Best bit of woodwork I've seen in ages that. ?
  13. Wow! its a long time since I've bought a hardwood door! Need something like this for a back door. £250 at Wickes just for the door! I'd be a bit happier if I could get the frame and sill for that too... Any suggestions for a cheap supplier? Seems a travesty I need to cut a cat flap in it as well! Cheers https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Georgia-External-Oak-Door-Glazed-2-Panel/p/9000236161
  14. Small Ventaxia MVHR? Various models, some with humidistat etc. This link at random. I think about 70-80% efficient: https://www.i-sells.co.uk/mob/prod_detail.php?Lw_wcB

  16. My understanding is once an SSD goes tits up that's pretty much it. With an HDD always a chance it's a mechanical fault etc and data can be recovered.

  19. This is a later Zorin you have than 12? When I say start I mean the bfo Z, bottom left where Windows Start is.
  20. I have a BT Home Hub 4. Zorin laptop sees a USB stick fine if plugged into the router. Start/Home/Other Locations/Windows Network/Home/BTHUB4/USB4.... Sees all the files, plays videos. That's on Zorin OS 12 Just tried it.
  21. Wtf? How small? D'you intend firing arrows through that?
  22. If anyone does have any pointers to the above question then please fire away, it'd be good to know for the future. However, found this which we're hoping to graft onto the model for the earlier Oculus Rift controller: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3652161 I really MUST try and learn this Fusion 360 thing, my lad thinks I'm a bit of a Luddite for being stuck in the past using AutoCAD! (I can still teach him a few tricks though!) He's only been using it since 21st Dec ffs! ?
  23. Evening, need some Fusion 360 help! This is the .stp file of a VR game controller opened up in Fusion 360. It's from the maker's website. It's for the Oculus S:It's not one piece but two, with an irregular nominal gap between them 0.3mm down to zero ('ish). In effect the join. Seems the actual controller the two halves are glued together. What we want to do is create a solid cylinder, insert the "male" controller then subtract it from the cylinder leaving us with a "cup" in the end of the cylinder.Because the controller isn't one entity we're having trouble. Almost wants the gap filling then the two halves along with the "fill" combining into one entity.Any ideas anyone?Cheers
  24. I was an early fan of Zorin OS on the forum here. Saying that Mint is well worth a look.
  25. The Geberit wall drain instructions said to achieve a 1 to 2% fall. In my case I think it was 13 to 26mm. I was really worried that you might notice this underfoot as you crossed the corner of the wet room and over balance when old/doddery/drunk to get to the basin. I'll get the laser level out a bit later and see exactly what it came out as, a feeling maybe 1.5%? With hindsight I'd have aimed at 2% from the off as you really don't notice it.
