Worth digging more than 200mm under floor joists?

That's my ever waking dream. It'll never happen as it takes two to want to do it. -
Worth digging more than 200mm under floor joists?

I've the weirdest DIY floor build up (more like cock up) in my lounge; concrete slab of unknown depth, a 4x2 sole plate, 4x2 floor joists on that then 5/8" chipboard flooring. Vented via external air bricks it's super cold. Picture of a repair in progress when I went through the floor one time. This is adjacent to the dining room that has a traditional suspended timber floor. That will need building up as there's such a void underneath. The lounge slab will be dug up It will all go and be replaced by a solid, insulated floor. Best bit is they knocked through after they'd done the lounge slab and floor so there's a height difference of about 100mm and a ramp between rooms! -
What's the highest temperature rated paint available?

Cerakote goes up to about 2000degC..... -
The one commercial one I know of in central London is vertical. Makes sense given space constraints and if you're piling anyway. A few places are planning retrofit heat pumps, afaic to tick a green box as the buildings in question are neither well insulated nor airtight.

As you have elevation...and a digger... Rather than a GSHP loop, is a pipe / single loop in a long trench a feasible option? Thinking if you had to trench from the road up to the property anyway.

Sorry, meant water source.

Pity you can't use the quarry lake for ground source.

'Tis the season of giving and receiving after all? ?

I'm just disappointed @pocster didn't ask which Chrustas with his query. Trouble finishing off as usual.

Can't see the problem, looks like he used the old stone from the wall for his new gable... ?

Yes it does, p18, diagram 4.

Nope, it's an after Christmas job.

I won't take anything out then in that case, build the platform round the diagonals but not touching.

Moving on... To keep the new platform from bearing on the existing roof structure, I thought to maybe add a couple of extra beams parallel to the binders sat in joist hangers sat in the stacks/wall. Then fit cross beams between them. (All shown in yellow). Then I thought maybe to bolt angles (yellow) to the opposing walls and run new beams (again yellow, only two shown) perpendicular to the existing ceiling rafters: I'll likely go with the second option but rather than fit angles (heavy and cost), fit a timber, then joist hangers on that. Someone elsewhere did suggest doing away with the angle or timber and fitting these directly to the end walls / stacks: Not sure of my ability though to put these direct onto the brick/block (possibly loose) wall keeping them all dead level and not hit a mortar joint etc. They also suggested using these to do it, which I've never used before: Hence my favoured idea is a timber on the wall first with bolts into the wall to miss the hangers that get nailed to the timber. Then to aim for this sort of structure adding timbers at the apex and new webs outside the platform area so I can get rid of the existing ones:

Just look for one with "manual override" e.g: https://www.alertelectrical.com/ovia-lighting-recessed-360-low-profile-flush-pir-with-manual-override-ovpir009wh.html They're all going to be much the same, the ceiling mount ones. Tbh Steinel is the brand for all things PIR imho. If you can accept fugly then maybe something like this? https://www.lights.co.uk/steinel-ir-180-up-easy-motion-detector-switch.html? Shop around on price, links picked at random.

What fittings do I need to connect to my shower mixer and heads?

Get him to fill up lots of 25L containers so you can easily count and gauge the amount delivered...

Yes, they'll take 15mm copper too but be sure the ends are clean and no burrs. With plastic pipe you need inserts. -

I used compression fittings: I did 20 turns of tape and a smear of goop (Jet Blue Plus) on top of the tape. That's the 1/2" male into the valve. On the 15mm compression I did just a smear of goop around the seat in the brass (with the pipe in) but before the olive sits down. Then seat the olive, then more goop after round the outside of that. Pays to put your tape on the right way! -
