  1. yup, i was trying to think of that but a long day cladding a dormer side off a roof ladder and shifting scaffold, just went blank.
  2. vcl on the warm side of the insulation in both cases. with cold deck if the vcl is not intact then moisture will condense in the roof space, with a warm deck the roof space is warm, so less condensation risk and less risk of rot.
  3. if it freezes at 500mm deep then probably russia dropped a few nukes and we're in an arctic winter.
  4. bottom of pic the internal with the roof removed and end grain timber wall plate with bargeboard removed? could do with a pic front of house
  5. scottish building regs, cold deck has lots of issues so it's warm deck up here
  6. we're not allowed to build with cold deck up here surprised you are. the warm deck is a far better design and it may be worth looking to change if possible.
  7. i thought it was nice with all the different designs beside each other, OH thought it looked terrible and a mish-mash. it was quite interesting that mcleod said he was always looking for different designs but thought it too much, so should always be careful what you wish for!
  8. 2nd hot water cylinder for the furthest room?
  9. rip the plasterboard down a find out the make up of your roof. if you don't want to go to that extent bore a small hole and put a camera in.
  10. btw, is it a cold deck flat roof? it seems to be the way you're talking about putting the decking down prior to epdm
  11. welcome, it's good to see more members north of the border
  12. the other option is to build a cabinet on the boundary to house elec and gas meters as a few of us here have done. when they disconnect get them to make the capped connection in the cabinet ready for you to connect if you wish after putting pipe in ground, just in case.
  13. is it usual to have obscure glass in an outside shower? 😎
  14. finally got some scaffolding down, got trim to finish cladding after a six week wait so just a little more to do on the dormers and it can all come down. and before anyone points out the down pipe isn't vertical, it will be, currently just temp. slow progress but progress 🙂 gonna sell the other plot 'cause we ain't doing this again!
  15. sorry, won't find much related to sealants, dyslexic fingers 😀 sp 925
  16. really like the illbruck 330 have been going over all joints as well as ingoes (reveals, for the southerners) with the sp925 just to make sure it's airtight. that stuff is a whole different ball game.
  17. as with @Adsibob would it not be possible to run one roof along the front, porch and bay, as with the back?
  18. any chance of a pic to let us get a better idea?
  19. this is a good colour match. i'm just finishing off a lot of a similar stuff and hope i don't have the same problems. when i was putting it on i did make sure it was quite tight
  20. came across this, now i'm not one into home automation but this seemed quite interesting
  21. does it matter, you're selling it
  22. have you looked at costco?
