  1. (Mine did not ask ?) ssshhhhhh
  2. You definitely need to confirm there is a lintel of some sort in there, can’t imagine there would not, but there are cowboys about !!!
  3. for some reason I have two pockets in my tank, one at 1/3 and one at 2/3, when we get visitors I move the stat to the lower pocket ?, I wonder why the lower one is not near the bottom of the tank to utilise the whole tank, no point in having a 300 litre tank if you cannot use it all!!! Answers on a post card to......... Good to hear.
  4. I also have one of those “in stock” in case but not fitted yet, I have yet to run out of hot water but there is only two of us and few visitors (especially recently ?) someone here was concerned the reduction in pipe diameter to 15mm would cause flow problems , @ProDave did you experience this?
  5. actually I found different, I bought a 20ft container and planned to insulate it to stop condensation but never got round to it, can’t believe how dry it is and it has no vents (but is in very good condition).
  6. Most definitely, If only he knew!
  7. Nobody knows, (and we have tried to find out), his web site has also disappeared but it did have an EU domain which might explain it.
  8. If I remember correctly Jeremy used 300mm flexes and had noise problems, he replaced them with much longer ones, in a loop, as per the MI,s and the noise almost disappeared. Shame he is not here anymore to confirm.
  9. I hate outward opening doors (OCD) looks cheap IMO. BUT my conservatory double outside doors open outwards so they can be fixed back against the wall leaving a clear opening when it’s good weather. It would not stop me buying a house, but I would change it soon after completion ?.
  10. I packed the mirror out so it’s flush with the splash back and had it made the same width, the same edging as the sides would do I suppose. It’s just edging trim.
  11. A previous member here (Jeremy) thought long flexible hoses were a waste so installed short ones and he suffered noise in the house, he replaced them with long ones (as specified in the MI,s) and the noise went away.
  12. Yes, works well IMO (you can see the shower reflection in the mirror)
  13. ditto, we also have LVT and skirting (painted well and sealed to the floor) ?
  14. surely it’s not only available from IKEA ?, can you post what you require!
  15. Whatever comes first! If they are “forever “ units, put them in first then skirting up to them (easiest). If you may change them in the future skirting first and scribe the units round them.
  16. you don’t need to, it does not work properly, end of, stop trying to understand and complain through trading standards on no it’s fecking not, it’s a heating system and your cold!, what’s not to understand? wrong on every level, it’s cold NOW, get proof (thermometers).
  17. As I said, the only bad ones are either designed badly or installed wrong YOURS IS BOTH, IMO. I have no radiators, I only have UFH downstairs (the preferred way to use an ASHP). I admit my programmer is also complicated and took a while to sort out but now it is I never have to touch it, if it’s cold it heats the house, when the house is warmed it switches off (not that it’s come on yet this year!,!). @Jilly make sure you read all reviews before deciding, not just one about a system that is wrongly designed and/or installed.
  18. mine is floor mounted just outside the house wall and virtually no noise can be heard indoors, In the cloakroom (where the plant room/cupboard is) you can just hear the pump when it’s running but no where else in the house.
  19. I have an 8ft piece of reclaimed timber that I use, remarkable it’s stayed straight after all this time. I like using “line of sight”, light only travels in straight lines, string can sag a little under its own weight.
  20. well let’s hope the silver lining from Grenfell is this is sorted out properly.
  21. I have always thought that LABC should have independent testing results for any product used anywhere.
  22. Reversed only in that fridge / freezers produce cold and waste heat, ASHP,s produce heat and waste cold!!!
  23. please don’t let it, others have said the only problems with ASHP systems are their being designed wrong or installed wrong, I installed my own, designed my own and it works very well (I don’t understand physics either ?). There are many here with an ASHP that are pleased with them. Fridge and freezers work on the same principle (but reversed) and they are simple.
