Can your supplier not swop it fir you? Are you sure you can’t “reverse it “?

Welcome, I do not heat to 60’ at all with my ASHP, this legionella thing has been debated here and I don’t believe there has been one case of residential infection in this country. I heat my DHW to 48’ and find that more than adequate fir all uses. My DHW tank is a bit larger as I will not blend water for use as much.
-
thats wot I said. Not fit fir purpose. @zoothorn, how did you heat the house before this was fitted? We’re you that cold before?

my caravan is ready and waiting (will probably be my only 2021 holiday).

I am with Octopus energy and the standing charges are the same fir both “normal” and economy7, normal rate is 16.09 and eco 7 is day rate 18.58 and night time 11.11. I would need to see usage charts with time of day separating ASHP from the rest to make an informed choice, not sure how I could do that??? @ProDave,s comment about possible lower COP at night might make a difference as well. I will probably think about it fir a few more years ???.

what shall we do with existing roof conversion

My son bought a Victorian terraced house that included a loft habitable floor (same as the rest of the rank) but would in no way pass building regs but he had no problem getting a mortgage. -
Is this the place to have a moan (sigh)

Well I had a main contractor and have always said here how good he was, and reading the above has made me realise how lucky I was with him. His work was done in 14 months from foundations to plastering and my work another 12 months. -
can’t rush into these things ?

I did ask about whether an ASHP was more economical to run during the day because the air temp was generally warmer (more heat available in the air?) but was told the difference in night and day air temps did not affect efficiency. Was/is this correct? Since I installed it ?
-
Well I did no calculations at all ?, I basically copied Jeremy (two people, similar sized house, similar age), and run ours 24/7, although it very rarely comes on. Room stat set to 20’ and ASHP set to 48’ (only one water temp allowed with my controller unfortunately). The UFH is blended down to 24’. I have no idea what the COP is but I pay about a 1/4 for my electricity than a mate with a smaller bungalow and storage heaters (and his bungalow is colder!). I am thinking of economy 7 but would need to measure lecky/time to see if it would be beneficial.

yes I lined my “box” above with sound absorbing foam which helped but admit it’s the short lengths that produce the most noise.
-
I made my own from ply and incorporated the manifold as well into one box, extract one side, input the other

No, that’s 3m from toxic materials !!! Frankly a non opening window is the same as a plain wall IMO.
-
by whom? (Just looked at the above and I am ok, that’s lucky as I did not know there were regulations).

sorry but I disagree with you on this one, he was sometimes misquoted and some didn’t like his sticking to his guns regarding his answers. Frankly his knowledge on all things was extensive.

I think now his house is finished this forum/subject no longer stimulates his (many) little grey cells, I am sure he has moved on to subjects anew.

I don’t see why, they are only interested in value for money, if you default they just want their money back . -
It does seem barmy to have steel in the walls for no reason other than part Q, planners making sure it’s “in keeping” is fine IMO.
-
I had to run 22mm copper all the way to outside fir my G3.

My brother in law bought a 3 bed holiday house on the coast but found the “loft conversion” did not have regs so he haggled the price down to a two bed (but he didn’t need a mortgage). -
I did exactly that with a small barn on the side of my cottage in Shropshire, took photos as evidence, planners didn’t like it but hey ?.
