  1. reminds me of my old Dad, he used to say “you can prove black is white with figures”. Data is fine but opinion is also fine. ?‍♂️
  2. time to talk to the papers methinks!
  3. yes some! (Me not included) yes some (me included) not at the moment (me).
  4. totally agree, not fit for purpose, ask for heat loss calcs to prove either way (which I doubt very much has been done) , complain to the financial source (council grant??).
  5. Not sure what “breed” of timber would be best but search for timber merchants near you that can supply what you require.
  6. I concur, which is why I keep on saying ITS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, (unless the designer can prove otherwise with his heat loss calculations).
  7. I disagree, it’s the way the heating system SHOULD have been designed, how can anyone know what’s reqd unless this is known. Saying it’s an old cottage is not good enough IMO.
  8. Feck off!
  9. oh I agree, but that’s the “design” bit, using something that’s not fit for it’s purpose should not pass the design stage. A bit like putting a tow bar on a mini and trying to haul a two ton trailer!.
  10. We are on an exposed site and our end wall blew over twice in a row over night during high winds, it’s only likely to happen when the Mortor is green (within a couple of days before it sets properly.
  11. Nothing, they have done what they can but it’s still NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!. 1/ it’s noisy 2/ your cold. As said above your pissed off with it, quite rightly. I would get on to however paid fir it, gov scheme or whatever and tell them it’s NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE despite many visits by engineers. Hopefully it will stop other “customers” getting the same crap. It’s not as if you have not tried. Unfortunately it’s circumstances like yours that makes people sceptical of ASHP,s. As was said many pages ago, they are only wrong if designed or installed incorrectly, there are plenty of people like me that are very pleased with theirs.
  12. tanks fir the reminder, some of mine are getting “sticky”, it’s on my “to do list”.
  13. @zoothorn, you say it was installed under some gov grant or whatever, you should give them your feedback so they don’t waste their money with other people if this heating is so crap,!
  14. don’t cut it too fast or it will burn, try to practice on an off cut if you can.
  15. From what I have read, the only people that did well were those previously hit by Mers and SARS.
  16. missed that!!, (great minds think alike ?). When Keir Starmer won the leadership the first thing he said was he wanted to work with the government during this pandemic, not against. Ha!
  17. Oh how true. I notice that Labour are going to abstain from today’s vote, that way, whatever happens they can shy away from any blame. Their stance is all criticism and no plan of their own.
  18. What a lovely house, you must be very pleased Ian, so pleased your in after all your trials and tribulations. ?
  19. It has got near that here but the mods read us the riot act now and again. I, for one , would be interested in your point of view on this part of Brexit but understand your reluctance, you’re probably better informed than most here. I believe there is nothing wrong with having an opinion.
  20. We are used to that ????? start a new thread and put your tin hat on.
  21. Oh I get that, I bought a JCB 3CX and it’s been great for our large site during the whole build but I am going to flog it soon and rent a tracked digger for installing land drains in the field (JCB is too heavy fir the soggy ground).
  22. ? Is that a reference to possible devolution?
