Hi and welcome, good for you, just remember there is no such thing as a stupid question, stupid is not asking (then being embarrassed ?), we have all been there and got various t shirts!
-
Yep, don’t do it, wait.

Well mine is not normal then, it produces water at one set temp, 48’ in my case. When called to do heating it heats a buffer tank, this is then blended down at the manifold for the UFH at 24’.

why, my small (5kW) heat pump does both (well, only water heating 9 months of the year) but copes with the heating as well during the other 3 months! Seems a shame to have a heating heat pump sat there fir 9 months not being used!

I believe you may have had a badly designed instal which makes you believe they all are. You cannot tell me mine is useless because it’s great, cheap to run and very efficient (and I designed and installed it ?). My build was not very expensive , insulation and attention to detail is cheap.

Ha, yes because he is selling boilers. No mention of the National pipe network needing massive updating and the cost of producing Hydrogen as mentioned in previous posts.

You forget this is a self build forum where people build well insulated houses or recon their existing house to good levels. Not when you consider having mains gas installed into a new build plot (my heat pump was not very expensive) No, I had no gov subsidy. P.S. mine runs very well, cheap to run and very happy with it ? I believe they are not suited to all houses , those that are not insulated and very leaky. Also there are many installers that do not design the installation properly (several on here) which gives them a bad press. RE hydrogen, the jury is still out on that one .

Widening Fireplace - Safe to Remove Brick?
joe90 replied to robertd275's topic in Stoves, Fires & Fireplaces
Very nice, not sure you need fire cement to point up the bricks, it’s far enough away from the stove (IMO). .....WOT NO PURPLE @Big Jimbo will be miffed ?- 13 replies

As per @PeterW you need some insulation under it or the screed/concrete will just suck the heat out of it, it’s not like UFH which heats the concrete slab like a huge storage heater. The online sellers of electric mat also sell the insulation sheets. With mine the elements were in a self levelling compound about 8mm thick then LVT.

Well the frame has to go in somehow and it will be bigger than the inside or outside hole in the plaster or render so inside or outside will need to go, you might get away with leaving one side (mostly) but the other and top and bottom have to go!!!! As I said I think it’s easier to patch plaster than render, but that’s just me, others might disagree. p.s. The wooden cill will have to go as well. if you decide to remove it from outside (like @Onoff,s picture way back) you may get to leave the internal wooden cill in place.

? no good asking me about tech, I am a Luddite. My bathroom radiators are electric on timers.

I am not a tiler but I would not put wall tiles on the floor!,!, don’t think they are made fir the weight (but may be wrong) . As I said before you won’t need many and you may find a few end of line that will do. Have you got a tile supplier near you?

Futures are something I do not understand, people making profit without either buying or selling anything???? Middle men causing price increases ?♂️

I think “over” would look crap and open to wind damage etc. All things being equal I would go under IMO.

Replacing the roof should not have involved any lintel that holds the brickwork up, IMO that crack looks old.

Hence the reason they say to be installed away from bath and basin!!!
