Let me know if you want advice on Durisol. It may not be right for you. Here's a warts and all description of (short of being killed by it) of about the worst that can happen with an ICF. That said, I would happily use the product again. Tell us more about your hopes and plans.

Morning folks. For this week's DIY challenge I need to make my own flat roof. The roof bit is not too difficult. I have almost settled on a design. Its the box gutter that concerns me. The closest I can find for the design is this YT video. (0:08) See the black stuff that's between the layers of OSB - what is it? Ta!

It's minute by minute insistence compared to silent reality. I agree, spreadsheets are a fantastic tool: sensibly applied, they make a huge difference. And having an auto-update VAT reclaim tool is a life saver. I missed a trick - should have trained our children to update our spreadsheet for us. Ah well. ?

Once you've got one, it's keeping it fed and watered thats the issue. Spreadsheets are worse than children. Instead of ' .. needing ... ' this or that, spreadsheets just sit there silently sneering at you - You haven't updated me recently have you? Hmmm, you'll see.... Listing itemised costs is difficult. How much detail? Enough to be meaningful, but not so much as a book keeper might require? Going to cost in the extra travel, the additional phone calls? Consider keeping an online version so you can update it from multiple platforms . Good luck

Mud mud glorious mud.
ToughButterCup replied to Russell griffiths's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Not being as well organised as @Russell griffiths, but having an inkling that mud would be a foe, this is what we did..... First, try not to get it on yer shoes in the first place I found that if I laid the mat(s) at a slight angle, the rain rinses the mat clean. An occasional brush with the same stuff we use to rinse the dog pens is perfect. Next: accept the the inevitable - so I bought a 5 meter off-cut of Astro Turf and put it down in front of the door; put a hose sprayer and brush next to the sluice..... Yes, that's a Dock leaf growing through the plastic. You can scrape your boots to your hearts content on Astro Turf. Best £50 I ever spent. Ashamed to admit I asked Rollo to mow it. ? -

You / we have no option. That skill maintains sanity. Protects bank balances. Encourages modesty. Me, I'm a bit of an eejit, nearly broke and scorched by the heat of my own worthiness. -

How to stretch 6 m to 15m
ToughButterCup replied to Russell griffiths's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
So...... is there any way eejits like me can find out how much a telehandler can lift at the maximum extent of its reach? Or do we just wait until the rear wheels lift off the ground? -

Russel, this topic isn't silly. It would have taken me ages to work out the logistics of how to solve your problem. And everyone who reads your post will use it as a starting point for their own thinking. In other words, stand on your shoulders. Keep them coming. You can never know what readers will make of your posts. -

It does here. And probably always will. If its soft, smelly and you're up wind of it, West Lancs doesn't care. -

Hmmmmm, had mine for two. The eyelets have ripped out along one side and deformed on the other. ? -
Criminal: Your honour, as God is my judge, I am innocent ! Judge: He isn't, I am, 3 years. Yet again ( quick someone nudge @MikeSharp01 ) this is a question of ethical relativism, and its constellation of related issues. Who is the ultimate legitimate authority? Genuine Pastafarians (@Bitpipe above) claim their belief is in a real deity. As do many Christians. And that the Deity has legitimate authority. The thing the Shepherds missed was the relevance of that authority. @Nickfromwales's authority carries relevance in plumbing and Welshness; but not in brain surgery and Danish bacon.

Welcome. I'm with Dave on this one. My major modelling concern is the serious issue of how the Landies are going to fare. Will they be forced out into the harsh, wet cold British winter? I do hope you'll have a risk assessment done for that. Series 3s are delicate beasts. Well, mIne was.

Welcome to Pain Central. Woe, worry, ulcers, sore backs, empty bank accounts, mis-communications, buckets of steam, smoke being blown up your withers: it's all here. In spades. Along with some of the most committed, interested and interesting people I have never met: I only see what they write and photograph. This place has saved me about £20,000 so far: its addictive. Smile inducing. Shared hardship, shared privilege. You are most welcome. BTW, can I see your designs from my window? The gantries on the West Coast main line?

Gargoyle. A passing neighbour watching my painfully slow progress on the flat roof asked if I was going to put a gargoyle on the down spout. He on the road outside, me on the scaffolding meant that we had to shout our suggestions. They got a bit rude, embarrassed, we stopped. To old farts blushing with annoyance that we hadn't seen a young mum and her daughter walking nearby. Off we slunk like two naughty boys. Anyhooo. What a good idea! Suggestions?

Oooowww. At a similar age I did a similar thing. To this day, I remember where I was at the time, what I did, and how I did it. Staying injury free is very hard because we are so outcome-focused. If you take Cocodamol, drink lots of water. @Hecateh will be along soon to explain why.
