nod replied to eniacs's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Over the past 12 months I’ve asked three different eco installers and been given almost exactly the same answer as John -
No the 18 layer foil is equivalent to 90 mil of rigid pri and far easier to seal with tape in awkward spaces Use two layers

Over cautious warranty surveyor?
nod replied to Gaz Bancroft's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
We had a similar issue raised by BC I simply requested a drawing of that section of foundation with a few calcs from the Structural engineer He will of already allowed for this hedge in his foundation design As Temp as pointed out Removing often causes problems -

Contega tape .Bad application. Bad plastering. A mess!
nod replied to FarmerN's topic in Windows & Glazing
Window head and reveals are much better dabbed Then wet plastered up to them Then a skim bead on the edge Far easier to get a nice even margin and line -
I would still add 12.5 on top

I would have perhaps started with your location and budget I found that using 70 mil insulated plasterboard dabbed directly onto the exterior walls has worked a treat on our previous build Hopefully does the same on our current build With three vaulted ceiling’s I’ve used 120 insulation between the rafters and taped them in multi foil
-
You need 50 mil wider than your cavity bat Unless you full fill
-
All ceilings have to have a minimum of 30 minutes fire rating A standard 12.5 mil pb will achieve this without any other fireproofing measures
-
I’ve always used Trenched But I’m on a job of 200 homes at the moment All are untrenched They simple have three battens tacked to the casing
-
There all fire rated For at least 30 minutes
-
Never seem to get the M2 price for TF wry expensive compared to solids
-
Then just wait for your app to be passed Ours are around 12 weeks still Covid of course
-
I’d hold back I think your more likely to get a visit from Building Control wanting to look at the foundation
