  1. I’ve a friend who is a self employed heating engineer Whilst he’s quite capable of installing a HP He’s decided to go down the grant route As he can’t buy the equipment in for anywhere near the 3k that he’s having to pay on top of his grant
  2. To be fair If you added a nine pop treatment plant as apposed to a six Who would know or care Certainly not BC Once backfilled your left with a manhole cover and they all look the same
  3. Over the past 12 months I’ve asked three different eco installers and been given almost exactly the same answer as John
  4. No the 18 layer foil is equivalent to 90 mil of rigid pri and far easier to seal with tape in awkward spaces Use two layers
  5. We had a similar issue raised by BC I simply requested a drawing of that section of foundation with a few calcs from the Structural engineer He will of already allowed for this hedge in his foundation design As Temp as pointed out Removing often causes problems
  6. I’ve similar setup in two places I used multi-foil to rap them Then taped the seams
  7. I was chatting to a Polish bricklayer There a bit like rocking horse poo now that there wages have caught up He reckons that it’s virtually all thin bed over there
  8. No need 15-12.5 plain boards will be fine if you already have a membrane
  9. I buttoned and fixed a membrane Then used a 12 mill faced ply
  10. Us also Wouldn’t even quote
  11. BG are running a radio add Promising customers that they will get a refund if the HP doesn’t save them money 😁
  12. 300 k sounds very healthy to get to watertight I’ll watch with interest
  13. Window head and reveals are much better dabbed Then wet plastered up to them Then a skim bead on the edge Far easier to get a nice even margin and line
  14. I would still add 12.5 on top
  15. Loads of answers So probably repeating advise As a tiling contractor The problem is in the first sentence 6 mil ply is your problem It should have been at least 12.5 The matting will make little difference
  16. I would have perhaps started with your location and budget I found that using 70 mil insulated plasterboard dabbed directly onto the exterior walls has worked a treat on our previous build Hopefully does the same on our current build With three vaulted ceiling’s I’ve used 120 insulation between the rafters and taped them in multi foil
  17. You need 50 mil wider than your cavity bat Unless you full fill
  18. All ceilings have to have a minimum of 30 minutes fire rating A standard 12.5 mil pb will achieve this without any other fireproofing measures
  19. 😂😂😂😂
  20. I’ve always used Trenched But I’m on a job of 200 homes at the moment All are untrenched They simple have three battens tacked to the casing
  21. There all fire rated For at least 30 minutes
  22. Never seem to get the M2 price for TF wry expensive compared to solids
  23. Then just wait for your app to be passed Ours are around 12 weeks still Covid of course
  24. I’d hold back I think your more likely to get a visit from Building Control wanting to look at the foundation
