  1. They are so tall! We don't have any windows behind the sink so it's not an issue but they are massive!
  2. Thanks so much I'll take a look.
  3. Ah that's exactly it! Thanks @PeterW
  4. I'm trying to find a large sink for our utility/mud room. One that will fit things like oven trays and general large/dirty items I may not want to clean in the kitchen. I've found this one but wondered if anyone has any suggestions of something cheaper https://www.plumbnation.co.uk/site/reginox-elegance-jumbo-stainless-steel-inset-kitchen-sink/ And whilst we are at it a pull out kitchen tap for said sink. We don't want to pay a lot but want something that won't be knackered in 12 months and any brands like Frank's, Grohe, Bristan are quite expensive. Any suggestions? Ta
  5. Thanks any pictures would be really great. Ours is a bungalow but it is very large and I don't want it to be too dazzling!
  6. I'm starting to look ahead to get someone to fit our LVT flooring. We have purchased it online and in advance are trying to get some quotes for fitting. I've contacted a few places, asked for recommendations locally but they will only supply and fit, not supply only. We would rather a professional fit it but we can't seem to find anyone. If anyone has some recommendations in the Shropshire or surrounding areas would they let me know please. Thanks ?
  7. Do you have a picture? I sense you're not a fan of the pure white? Stirling seems to be more yellowy. The pearl seems a slightly darker white, not so much yellowy so probably similar to polar white.
  8. We are really struggling to know which white to go for for Krend. We have RAL7016 windows and a black front door. Our builder is suggesting pearl but I don't know if this would look a bit yellow against the windows but is pure white a bit too white/dazzling? Can anyone share if they had one of these colours and if they are willing to post pics that would be incredibly helpful. Thanks
  9. Looks lovely @Mandana Really nice doors too @Pete Are they all RAL7016 Anthracite? Also what colour render did you go for? Is it krend? We have seen a few 'white' variations on samples and it's hard to visualise. You both have lovely cladding. I wish planning hadn't insisted on all render for our bungalow. I'd of loved to have had some variation.
  10. I didn't use Midsummer in the end. My parents have a business and opened a trade account with another company and managed to order the equipment.
  11. I got trade prices for my equipment (just under 4kw in roof system with PV immersion controller) so I'd be interested to see the spec for an 8kw system at this price.
  12. We have emailed the builder now having considered his option and have stated we want the roof completely replaced, with a fall and insurance backed guarantee. Had he done it right properly all this could have been avoided. He's not going to be happy but like it's been pointed out already he must have known and could have put it right at various points instead of progressing. I only hope that he protects the rest of the house when he takes the roof off....
  13. Snap , with RAL 7016 Window Frames and Sweet Chestnut cladding Red looks amazing. Really like the double doors. @HerbJ are your windows/frames anthracite 7016 or black?
  14. Not an option unfortunately, whatever solution is needed it needs to happen. We have managed to negotiate an extra month in our temporary accommodation until the end of November already but we have to be back in the house then (and we will probably murder one another if we both have to carry on working from home in the static).....
  15. To be honest after reading what you said even without any opinion of the architect the solution he is proposing doesn't sound good.
  16. No, they didn't know one another until we introduced them. They said, we are a small town/village so people tend to know everyone, familiar with one another. We certainly don't want any issues so if it means the roof coming off it will have to happen. They will just have to protect the UFH and piping/flooring.
  17. I am going to contact the architects now. They are also local too. @Big Jimbo I don't know your answer to your questions but these are valid points and the exact things I wanted to know. It's going to create a huge spanner in the works getting the roof off but if the secondary roof is going to create issues I'd rather delays. And yes it's a warm roof
  18. Nope it's all anthracite and will be render but we loved the door and as it was ex display it was the same price as a Solid or one. We are surrounded by lots of trees though and at some point we need some kind of canopy/porch but as it's flat roof I'm not sure what the options are. The back door is a composite grey stable door but we don't have any windows there so nothing directly to view it against and another Internorm one was our of our budget.
  19. I did struggle picking a front door with anthracite windows as we didn't want an anthracite door and I didn't know if a different colour would look OK. Interesting to hear what colour door others went for, e.g. to match windows or completely different contrasting colour. In the end we got an Internorm door in black with a gloss wood bit on it (white inside) I still have some reservations on whether it will look OK but it's too late now and it was next to a grey frame in the showroom so should be ok next to our anthracite windows.
  20. We have gone for anthracite 7016 outside with Internorm but white inside purely because I wanted something neutral. Having anything more bespoke colour wise was a lot more money with Internorm. Anthracite may go 'out of fashion' but you could say the same thing about kitchens, wooden cladding, tiling....
  21. I did mention the edging and he assures me this will be sorted with the new roof but would be a slightly higher edging in light of the extra roof.
  22. Yes it is, I think he was genuinely embarrassed and as a local builder known to the village he wouldn't want his reputation to be damaged. I know they are focusing on the flooring next week so there won't be any immediate rectification but he assures me it will be sorted. I just hope the laying of the GRP is better this time around.
  23. So, bit of an update we met with the builder earlier on, just us and no distractions as @Nickfromwales suggested. I had worded a strong email last night as well as sent pics on WhatsApp. We were both ready to take no crap, luckily it didn't come to that. Builder straight away admitted it was bad and he had trusted someone against his gut feelings and said he knew it should have had a fall on it and had seen it earlier on in the day before we did and realised how bad it looked. He said he had been worrying about it and knows it looks bad on him. He said he could go on but it's his responsibility and won't make any excuses and it's a bad job so first hurdle ☑️ In terms of putting it right, this is what I want to check. Interestingly it mirrors what @SteamyTea mentioned about a secondary roof over the original one. His proposal to do this with new OSB with filings so creating a fall. The fall will then sort of be either side of the middle of the roof, almost like a pitch but obviously very slight, not like a pitched roof! Then the whole thing GRPd again, this time properly and getting the ideal weather I think the issue in taking the whole roof off is that our UFH has been laid, flooring base is coming on Wednesday and it's all progressing because in 3 weeks Internorm are coming for the windows so I am presuming this is a way of not losing any time. Anything I should be worried about fitting a roof over a roof if it's done properly with a fall?
  24. We have a never ending mouse supply. I stopped counting when we got to double figures.....
  25. You can sleep easy and compare it to the small lake we have on ours! I like this! I think I'm going to get worse when it comes to first and second fix. My dad has always been a perfectionist, although is not in the building trade (he's a mechanic), but he's done many diy jobs and I seem to expect everyone will take pride in their job like he does which is not the case!
