  1. I have a JB Kind brochure here. Thanks for updating. I still can't find a flush white door. I've messaged @ultramods as they posted a similar question but not sure they are active on this forum.
  2. Sorry it was @Roys oops. The issue I'm finding with Fibo is anything we like comes in 600mm wide so we will have to have joins in the panels on the 1200 and 1400 tray walls as they just don't do large panels so there is going to be some wastage and a lot of panels. I'm going to get some more samples from them
  3. @ProDaveWe're these the PVC ones or ply ones? They seem to be cheaper than Fibo but we haven't yet found a colour of multipanel that we like. @Onoff I thought that too and we want to avoid joins. We have one tray 1200*800 surrounded by three walls so will need three large panels and two others 1400*800 with two walls so will need four panels I think so that's 7 panels in total ? I'm sure tiles woukd be cheaper. @Ferdinand interesting point. Some of the ones we have seen come in either tile format or not and given your issues it makes me more likely to go for those without and that come in large panels instead.
  4. Agree, we didn't like any of the hollow pvc stuff and it's the ply type. We have three showers so it isn't going to be cheap and one of them fits into an alcove with three walls ? hoping though it will be far easier for cleaning though
  5. It was @success1980 who had a thread that mentioned plain white finished doors and @PeterW mentioned XL joinery so I'll check them out. @success1980 did you get fixed up and what did you end up with?
  6. Definitely not oak, it's got to be white and as flat as we can get and not needing painting/finishing. I just can't quite find what I'm looking for. I'm sure I saw the same question on here but I can't find the thread.
  7. To be honest at the moment it's just finding something we both can agree on though I'm sure price will be a deciding factor too. We had some cheap ones (not flat though) previously £20 from B&Q and they were still fine 15 years later but it was painting them that did my head in - and the fact one door handle kept falling out as it was flimsy, though that may have been the quality of handle as oppose to the door.
  8. It's for internal doors, sorry I should have made that clear. Unless you mean uPVC or composite inside???
  9. We visited TG builders today and looked at quite a few showerwall alternative to tiles after having had quite a few samples from www.showerwall.co.uk We were quite taken with a few different designs from a manufacturer called Fibo. Has anyone heard of these? Opinions?
  10. Surrounded by door brochures we have concluded we just want a flat if possible, white door. As SWMBO has a knack of picking THE most expensive handle/knob out of all the brochures we have I'm hoping we can save a bit of money by picking a fairly basic door. The issue is after gloss and satin white doors previously I'd rather not have something that requires regular painting, so does such a door exist? Any pointers?
  11. So, progress has continued and after months of walking round looking at drawings I can actually see proper rooms which is all very exciting. My necessity of carrying lip gloss everywhere has been replaced with a tape measure which is now a handbag essential! I've become almost obsessive checking sizes of rooms, window openings and that potential bathroom purchases will fit. My tape measure had that much use it finally broke! One stand out moment was the steels for the 5.5 metre Internorm doors (modelled by the wife) and the corner window. This will be the kitchen dining room and look out up to the canal so will be one of my favourite places. The inside of the bungalow looks like a group of lads have had the worst house party ever and the chimney, naff red fireplace (see previous forum post), 70s bathroom and bedroom have all gone along with some of the windows, though neither of quite made it out of the house yet so it's just piles of rubble. In the absence of a chimney we have gained an impromptu skylight with view of the wasps nest. Internorm did their technical survey earlier this week and we just need to iron out the measurements of the 'triangle bits' above the huge sliders and hopefully will have our window order placed on Tuesday. The lead times mean potentially the windows will pretty much be the last things to go in which to be isn't a bad thing, less chance they will get damaged. Here is some pics. We are spending a rainy Saturday afternoon arguing about knobs.
  12. Crikey, sounds a disaster! Ours is a 1970s weird bungalow which looks like two, separated by a flat roof (I suspect because when they got PP in the 70s permission for two bungalows it was turned down so they built one which looked like two and hoped to change it to two at some point but they never happened). The council wouldn't support a demolition so we had to work with what we had, the council kept saying 'in keeping with the surrounding area' but the reality is the two properties opposite us are very different and not 70s so we aren't in keeping with anything anyway so we will be a modern, rendered bungalow with a large proportion flat roof. We did initially get plans for an upstairs but ditched them due to a number of reasons.
  13. Haha yes ? it's a lovely canal - I'm bias though. We are in Shropshire close to Whitchurch and the staircase locks which anyone who has travelled on the Llangollen, especially in a boat will no doubt have memories of, they seem to cause chaos for a lot of tourists. Hopefully when the house is finished and funds allow we will get a narrowboat at some point, when we bought it the house didn't have mooring we applied and got it granted so that's definitely a future plan....
  14. It's not a lake it's the Llangollen canal and it runs adjacent to our property and we have over 90 metres of canal frontage, the towpath being the other side. We have 5.5 metre sliders planed from our large kitchen diner with views of the canal and will have some seating area there. We are lucky in that we have the views not only in the living room but pretty much every window of the house so it's not like we are limited with the view only being from our living room and I'm all honestly I think we will spend much more time in the kitchen/dining area as it will have a bit of room for a small sofa too so will be more of a social space. I can only see the living room being used in winter when we want to snuggle in front of the log burner! Here's a better pic from earlier on in the build and looking towards those large sliders we have planned. On reflection I don't think it matters making the living room window a bit higher to keep it in line with the kitchen.
  15. Internorm came today for a technical survey and we can't seem to agree on something (though unusually I don't have an opinion on this I just want to get the things ordered)! It concerns these two windows - the extension isn't up yet so added on to the left window is the kitchen extension. Looking at the bungalow the window on the left will form part of the kitchen and will have our kitchen sink/worktop so the bottom will be raised (I'm not on site at the moment but you're talking 10-15cm) to account for the base units/worktop. This is not an opening window, nor split rather just one pane measuring 1800mm *1050. To the right of this is the living room window this is a separate living room and not accessible from the kitchen/dining (plan attached) nor is it our only window in the living room (the other one is round the corner as you look at the bungalow on the righ. to raise the same as the kitchen one (10-15cm). The size of this 2400*1050 single pane and also fixed. Apparently having a higher than normal window in this room is not normal, though I can't see an issue with it though one of us described it as a letterbox! Is raising the height really that much of an issue. Frankly I don't care..... The other lounge window is 1490*1050 too but there are no other windows on this wall (see other pic - the window will be slightly smaller than the one in now). Plan attached for info.
  16. Well I'm not a real man or any man like @Onoff and there is no man here aside from the builder(s). I'm a real woman, as is my other half but neither or us feel confident with this! I may be up to tackling some of the later stuff but not this! It's either making a fake wall and then a walk in like my initial sketch or something like @Nickfromwales suggested but we need to look into costs as that Lego type stuff seems expensive compared to a walk in tray and screen. First things first need to speak to builder to clarify how the shower is connected to the waste. Thanks everyone for your help.
  17. So square it off and then something like this? https://victoriaplum.com/browse/quadrant-shower-enclosures?csi=PFH98PRP&ds_kid=92700055266126519&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrOTyveTH6gIVuIBQBh3xFwbBEAQYAiABEgIQe_D_BwE
  18. The other option seems to be as per my drawing and have a walk in shower and tray. Newspaper is based on tray of 1400*800. We could then have the entrance door opening the other side but don't think this is necessarily needed. From squaring it off to the entrance door wall the measurement of the wall is 2.9 metres.
  19. It's for a second ensuite for the parents/Airbnb (we have our own) so I don't really want to start moving walls etc so armed with some newspaper I've been playing around with the layout. Option one @Bored Shopper your suggestion. This is based on 800*800 tray. Bit worried about the door on a tray and cleaning access. Not sure.
  20. It's for a second ensuite for the parents/Airbnb (we have our own) so I don't really want to start moving walls etc so am off to the house shortly, armed with some newspaper for template shower trays to see what I can come up with.
  21. Its been built already, we have foundations and part built walls ? I'm stupid, the angle never really occured to me before looking from the plans.....
  22. Oh I never thought of that - in shower storage recesses..... Excuse the crude drawing but would something like this work? Kind of a walk in one if the corner was squared off. I imagine it would need to be 700-800 so would lose a bit of the space. May have to change the entrance door opening side.
  23. Hmmm I don't really want the shower close to the window and it could end up blocking it. I guess the corner could be squared off and then a D or U shaped shower.
  24. This is what is on the plans and we have the foundations/walls. It's the only real logical place but don't really want tiles but the tray shape on the plans doesn't exist! Hopefully @Nickfromwales will be along too with some advice.
