Did you put it down and put the screed on top straight away or let it dry first as I have only done while wet? TIA

I agree with the above but our experience of dealing with Internorm as a company has not been great. If you do decide to use Internorm do not pay all the money upfront as our installer requested. We held out for a retainer otherwise we would not have placed an order and this has now come in very useful seen as our installation has now taken over 12 months.

Quite a few on here have had a nightmare with Internorm windows, us included

A couple of firefighters died in a high rise if I remember correctly. They would have got out but the suspended ceiling collapsed and the cables got trapped between their cylinder and harness on the breathing apparatus set. As a result of that all Fire Services in the UK had to have a strap fitted that connected the harness to the top of the cylinder and thus prevented a cable becoming lodged between the two.

Yes it is a good site. What did you use to prime the floor before hand, SBR?

Has anybody used the non branded make of Bosch cordless batteries? I had two 4amp Bosch batteries die this week?? and even though FFX have some deals on I was looking at the batteries on Ebay that will fit Bosch tools. I seem to remember some have used a similar battery but for Makita and they had no problems with them.

I know this has been discussed on numerous occasions about leveling concrete floors and using self leveling but this can be expensive depending on the area involved and the depth. I need to raise my concrete floor about 15mm to nothing (not my fault) and over a large (ish) area and was going to use Grano dust with cement/SBR additive and SBR primed floor before starting. Has anybody else used this method before?

What is the best pipework system for a life inside the wall?
Pete replied to MikeSharp01's topic in General Plumbing
It depends on how acute your bends are as the pipe makers supply a former that goes around the outside of the pipe to create a 90 degree bend thus doing away with a join -
Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink

I know how you feel as we are still waiting for our window installation to be finished. It is really hard to maintain your composure with these people. Good job they are on the end of the phone and not present as I would be doing time for GBH by now!! -
Are you preserving the wood or teasing it!! ?

mvhr and minimal other heating

Are you doing the work? If so you can work out the pipe spacings and how much pipe you will need if you use Loopcad which I believe is free for a month. We did all this and then fitted the pipes to the steel mesh one Saturday morning so it only cost us materials. Each build will be different as the square meter cost will differ for each house but it is definitely very easy to do and is well worth having it in the slab as a fallback if you decide you need UFH later. I would say on average it costs between £500 to £1000 for materials which includes pipe, manifold, pump etc and cable ties depending on the size of the property. -

Can you give details of how much your elec bills are to heat your house and how often you have to have the heating on if the weather is fairly consistent outside. T -

Had to dig the holes for the 3 phase cable to domestic cable joints the other day for the pre site inspection. ( We had laid the ducting and back filled it as it was a working drive so had to dig the connection holes before they would sign it off ready for the cable to be pulled through). I then had to send photos of the holes to the pre site inspection engineer so we could move forward. I then received a phone call to say we had used the wrong ducting even though I had taken loads of pictures when we did the initial laying and sent them to the office staff to put on record. My heart sunk and all I could think of was having to dig it up and relay it. He then said do not worry I have managed to get it passed but you should have used the rigid 3 metre socketed lengths and not the 50m red twin wall that you have used.I then said all it said on my instructions was use red ducting he said yes, the rigid stuff. As it turned out the cable puller's said they prefer my ducting and it is a lot easier to work with.

I had purchased all my tapes from Passive house systems and found them great to deal with. When I realised I had not ordered enough I contacted them to ask if I could purchase one more roll and could they look at the postage as it would make it a very expensive roll! Not only did they apply the discount I had received in the earlier orders they posted it free of charge. ( I have no connection to this company)

I fitted the battens and moisture resistant render board myself. This cost about £4000 for 280sqm and then the Parex render cost about £15,000. It is not cheap but this is predominantly the major part of the exterior of the house

I have just fitted two Horman doors myself from garagedoorsonline and they arrived on time and at a good price. When you have worked out the instructions to fit the first one, the second is easy!
