  1. Welcome to THE forum for people like us! Can't really see what a big thermal store brings you here unless your electricity has a night rate or some such to allow you to move the demand window. As @PeterW says if you just need DHW to be stored then you only really need that at a worst case volume, rather than vast amounts of losses in a big system, and you can always fit an immersion heater to top it up quickly if needed.
  2. Ok so you learn something every day don't you!
  3. I already had a blog so it was just a new entry the whole thing worked out of the box.
  4. How does he fix it, by creating a category or an entry?

  6. Yes I thought so. You wonder how many other similar issues are out there - Italian bridges notwithstanding!
  7. You have chosen a good day for it and a bad day to be without it😁.
  8. Worth a look, if you can stand it, to learn how not to build in problems. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0018t7t/why-buildings-collapse#xtor=CS8-1000-[Promo_Box]-[News_Promo]-[News_Promo]-[PS_IPLAYER~N~m0018t7t~P_WhyBuildingsCollapse_SEG_PNC]
  9. Yes @TemperanceNI you need also to prepare for that aspect of the build. Smooth is NEVER the word in self building BUT it's great to see progress.
  10. Interesting insight into the challenges of fixed price contracts, they are only ever any good in times of low inflation or predictable inflation times.
  11. Interesting challenges don't know which pump would be best but if you are having an internal ASHP as you will need VERY good ventilation in that space to get the air throughput you are going to need.
  12. Think we looked at this a few weeks back. @JanetE posted this: 12 packs of salt blocks last a year. They are £72 from: Greens, https://water-systems.co.uk/ on the thread: not sure how it compares as weight not know but I guess a quick look will help.
  13. If it is Japanese Knotweed then you have a problem, everything about the challenge is here: https://www.rhs.org.uk/weeds/japanese-knotweed hard work ahead if it is.
  14. Think that post took a chunk off my life, still this coffee time Apple will take the edge off!
  15. Interesting observations.
  16. Got one (Well similar) and thought I would have a dig around the amplification of the IF stage to make it read with arduino / EPS. Anyway found this video - some of this chaps gear will make you jealous I think the Keysight MXA is around $80K. Insightful video.
  17. But means feeling up to walking on the ridge with a watering can, a packet of Copper sulphate and dragging a hose. 😧 Why have I got a funny feeling in my gonads?
  18. @nod gives you a couple to try above.
  19. shouldn't it be supplying in the office?
  20. If it has been there for more than 4 years (I think it is four years) then you can get a lawful development certificate anyway so maybe that's what they will be asking you to do and nothing more.
  21. Looks very impressive - glazing issues raised by others would also worry me. Good luck on the journey - we will be here for you but you will have to have all the fun.
  22. Thought I would get one of these to play with: https://www.unmannedtechshop.co.uk/product/24ghz-mmwave-radar-sensor-fall-detection-module/ Does your your normal extraction rate meet the building regs requirement purge / etc?
  23. Where abouts are you planning to build - Telford or out in the countryside.
  24. This is the challenge for me, inactivity can include just sitting there reading a book, you will need the 'heart beat' sensor @Radian was mentioning to capture that.
