there is a chance of it, as i had to do the previous corners in a video a long while back, but no i have never filmed myself doing a loft conversion we will have to agree to disagree there, i tried one in the past and i found it awful for anything thicker than 25mm. I also didn't find it very good for "adjusting" the boards like i was doing when i said it as they don't seem to remove much material, Ill see what she is willing to do might have to wait until summer for anything like this

This my all turn out fine but you know what they say about things that are too good to be true. I normally use eBay for buying stuff online and pay through paypal and the protection has always been great, but i just couldn't refuse this deal. but i have got a horrible feeling this is some kinda scam so i thought i would ask for some advice before i need it. I have just bought this with one click buy through amazon, but reading the description further i see it says i should have emailed him BEFORE i bought it. so i emailed him afterwards anyway with this. Hi I have just ordered the Makita SP6000J1 240V 165MM Plunge Saw With 2 x 1.4M Rails, Connector Bar & Bag you are selling on amazon, the order has gone through so i assume everything is ok but in the description it asks for me to contact you via this email, I’m not sure why but this is me contacting you.. Edward Graves edward.graves@hotmail.co.uk ------------------ He replied with this : Who is the price? -------------------- I replied with this: It said £191 I have already paid. Edward Graves edward.graves@hotmail.co.uk ----------------- He then replied with this: Hello,First of all let me apologize for the late answer.Let me explain you how you can buy Makita SP6000J1 240V 165MM Plunge Saw With 2 x 1.4M RailsThe item is brand new, never used, but i can't list it as a new product due to Amazon policy, they don't allow me to list it as a new product. The item will comes with original box and accessories and 2 year international warranty. If you are wondering why the price is lower than the usual,it is because we have some promotional prices . The offer lasts 7 days. The total price is £191.00, including all shipping costs to Europe. If you want to buy it, please send me your shipping address(phone number, your complete name, street name and number, zip code and city) I will immediately send the required data to Amazon Department. They will contact you with the order and details about payment and shipping. You will have to complete the payment with them. Dispatch will be by normal UPS Services, which takes 3-5 days, depending on where in the United Kingdom you are located. My return policy is full refund in 21 days. For more information, please don't hesitate to contact me!Many Thanks ----------------------------- and my final response was this My shipping address is: Edward Graves xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxx xxx xxxxxx I am a little confused as the order has already gone through and is set to be sent to that address, Also I have already paid? Edward Graves edward.graves@hotmail.co.uk --------- he is yet to respond and this was sent at 21.30. now this all could end up ok and i will get £350 worth of rail saw turn up between the 19th and the 23rd question is what happens if it doesnt? I paid by debit card so haven't got the protection of a CC, I have never had to deal with Amazon for things like this before, are they any good with customer protection???? any advice welcome. Ed Edit: i sent a screen shot of the invoice in the last response but it doesnt seem to have copied across? also i sent him my real address not a bunch of x's

Welcome indeed. 6miles from Cambridge means we are not to far apart depending which direction you are going? Dunno if that's a good thing or not but good luck either way. I'm fairly sure the fact you found this place will make it a "better" if not "cheaper" build

possibly, but that's not the Essex way, I like to have it out, we can fall out in the end if we want but at least it has been "aired". no point in us all muttering in corners over misconceptions...... but then again I am a builder so i may see things slightly differently -

I just got one that was on offer, I would recommend one with a digital display and optional font sizes but i assume most of them have this now a days. I think this is the one, at least it looks the same and will do the job http://www.dymo-express.co.uk/dymo-label-makers/S0883980.html?gclid=CjwKEAiAtefDBRDTnbDnvM735xISJABlvGOvmbLAEc0Dgpl9URuiik0zZF7p5-1OuNYhvXHtSJi55RoCq-3w_wcB

now you just need to get yourself a label maker. and put everything back when you have finished with it, (you might already be that kinda guy, unfortunately i am not ) i bought a smaller red one a while ago and tried mounting it in the back of the van, lets just say that was a bad idea because when they fall over they make a hell of a mess, now its in the workshop somewhere upside down in a mess, maybe ill tidy it all up someday, maybe ill tidy the rest of the workshop while I'm at it...........LOL who am i kidding

I'll have a word with him later. Hes on a plane at the mo so I don't know when he will next check in. Whatever happens it will be better for you two to at least clear the air. Whether it end in a blazing row or mutual disagreement is none of my business but I will try to get him to hear you out. -

c'mon @Onoff, Why would he go in to the reason it closed (and yes i will vouch it had nothing to do with Jeremy) the podcast was about building, not forums and their politics. From a few of your posts it seems you have got something against Jeremy and i hope it is only because you were under the impression that he was the reason Ebuild closed (which you were wrong about, but that may be out fault for not discussing it a huge amount outside the foundation group), Either way whats wrong with a bit of self promotion, Everybody knows that is the sole reason I Joined Ebuild, it might not be the reason i have stayed so long but there is no hiding the fact if i wasn't trying to get the youtube channel which i have put a fair amount of work into "promoted" to a wider audience. None of you would have ever met me. Chin up Jeremy, Harsh comments get me down as well, not so much here but on my videos, they hurt a lot more than they should and i don't know why, probably because i am only trying to help and it seems very ungrateful that some people say the things they do. either way I think you did the right thing by commenting, There is nothing wrong with a good old bit of arguing back IMO Ed -
Any one else have problems with Jewsons?
Construction Channel replied to Leaway's topic in Building Materials
its not just "self builders" or just Jewsons, all the BM's we use seem to try and bump up agreed terms every now and again, it could just be the system they use going wrong, but unfortunately i don't have enough faith in humanity to believe that -

fair enough, we had to use it to line a gas bottle store early part of last year, I just assumed it would be ok for this... you know what they say about assumptions...- 15 replies

if it is going to be visible you could look at "Glassroc". its painfully expensive but looks much better than the standard cement boards, as for fire ratings i very much doubt there ill be much difference assuming they are all "cement boards" at the same thickness- 15 replies

one point i will add is if using concrete screws make sure you are holding the timber tight to the wall when you start fixing it, as they are threaded all the way up they don't pull in like a normal screw, HTH Ed -

I realise you are trying to do it accurately just for the fun of the exercise. But if I was trying to do it on site I would try to get it into as many cuboid's and right angled wedges as possible and add them together. Then whatever's left give it a generous guesstimate. -
