  1. It is a disgusting world we live in on the assumption that if you did happen to leave your keys on the side they would not pay out?
  2. as he said, its cheap for a reason, and that makes it the most likely to break when you most need it
  3. imagine how much you would be missing out on if you hadn't learnt to drive a digger
  4. ............nope..........il just leave that one........
  5. i saw it /cross posted. this all sounds very expensive just so they can use heaters to dry plaster. gut feeling says buy a 3-5 KVA Jenny and just hire another couple when they are plastering for a week or 2
  6. ill second @Steptoe on what exactly do you NEED 10KVA for?
  7. its nice to hear someone being honest with themselves for once sell it afterwards..... lol
  8. you can always sell it afterwards
  9. ahhhh, they're 800 long, i knew i read it somewhere. 411 you and a mate will have it done in no time. sod the warm cup...... unless of course the kettle was already on, always good to keep drivers on your side. i would advise throwing them into the dumper though and not just on the floor to save time, no point in touching them more times than you need to
  10. if you give them a warm cup and they can work their breaks to suit your drop, usually long enough, assuming you can get the dumper close enough, 800 pieces, 10 at a time, bundle every 20s ish shouldn't take much more than half hour, on your own....
  11. i would hope a locked house would class as secure......
  12. https://basc.org.uk/firearms/applying-for-a-firearmshotgun-certificate/ makes me feel safe.
  13. Nice work. Just shows how much wore work is involved when doing it on your own. ??
  14. I agree on your first point but not so much on the second, supposedly when she was on the phone to the guy he claimed he personally sent the sample to her and she only ordered one so i do still think it is a winnable argument, the second point .....No. as a customer she visited his website, (this is all assumptions) asked for a sample of product x, he sends out a sample of product Y with label x on it. she says "yes i like (what she can only know as product x) can i have 100m2 of it please. so he sends out product x when the only thing she has ever actually seen was product Y.........ya get me? try typing "Grey oak floor" into google image search and see how many of them are not "grey"
  15. sorry only just read through your other thread, Im with Russel just hand ball them or slide them into the dumper. digger with slings might work. possibly just to slide a pallet /bundle into the dumper
  16. how much do they weigh??
  17. ill speak to her about it tomorrow, I assume so, After reading this thread last night and speaking to her solicitor friend in the morning, she told me about the above plan. I doubt she is just going to post it back and hope they pay up........... Hopefully her solicitor friend knows what they are doing. at least they now know where the fault lies (the sticker) and can fight the case accordingly.
  18. have a look around and see whats on offer locally, £30 sounds very cheap too me, Id say 50-80£ is an acceptable price to pay for a half decent not non-tenting 1.5mx 50m roll
  19. are you boarding the roof or just putting it straight on the rafters? if you are boarding first you will need a different (the expensive ones) type of membrane if not i thinks its pretty much an open market, I went for WEB UV for my walls and Tyvec for the (boarded) roof, I can find out specific names tomorrow if it helps but if you're not boarding i don't think you need to worry too much
  20. Ok update for the day. She's sending it back. ? And has already found another supplier who can get us the flooring she wants here by Friday. He claims he sent out the sample personally so AFAIC he balled up. Even if it will be an interesting battle I agree with @jack's previous comment. He sent the sample which the customer said she wanted. His ordering system should be irrelevant. We ordered what was written on the back of the sample he sent so I can't see how my customer should suffer for it. Let's see how he responds. Tbh this has got very little to do with me as I am just meant to be laying the floor but nobody likes to see an upset customer. She has also asked me to thank you all for your help last night. Ed
  21. unfortunately not, and it may be a very important point, hopefully she ordered it direct as it will be a stronger bargaining chip. Ill ask in the morning. Its a bit late for me to pester her about details now. It won't change anything until then anyway
  22. Oh dear.... never used the Wayback machine before. thanks for at least showing me that tool. but its not looking good, even google image searches for "repro reclaimed grey barn oak" don't look much like the sample looks like my suspicion of the wrong sticker might be close........well this is going to be fun, ill let you know how we get on Edit: also thanks for the "downforeveryone" link, very useful tool
  23. Ok. Thanks again for all the help. I'm going to sit down with the customer in the morning and have a look through a few things. But for the moment this is the sticker on the back of the small light coloured sample. This is not a name and shame as I think it's only fair for anyone to be given a chance to make reparations. But can anyone else got onto their website? All I'm getting is "server not responding"
  24. I still haven't heard back or managed to get onto the website but having looked at the sticker on the back of the sample. It does say grey barn oak. And this sticker is on the back of the light coloured sample. Hypothetically where will we stand if it turns out that it's the wrong sticker on the sample? E.g they sent what was ordered. But the customer was sent the wrong order codes on the sample?
  25. Thanks for the help guys, annoyingly the flooring companies website is down so i can't check product codes, but i will ask the customer about the order codes and weather she paid by CC, Ill keep you updated. Ed
