  1. Cheers guys. Getting away isn't an option as I have a dog and more importantly, my Mum is due to go in for heart surgery (was supposed to be tomorrow but they cancelled it on Friday and I've yet to find out when she'll be going in now). Getting around London is an option though but the issues are all still there when you get home
  2. Getting quite stressed out with this self build which is just 24/7 of my life. It took me 3 years to find my plot and the last 2.5 years has just been one thing after another but not feeling like I'm getting anywhere. I'm at the point of feeling like walking away from the whole thing as I'm just so fed up with it all and financially it's been a huge burden. Have you guys felt like that and how did you stop yourself from just giving up????????????????
  3. Nick has been one of the very few people I've been impressed with so far
  4. I've heard the CT1 Multisolve is good too
  5. I got a quote from Quickslide and they were nearly 3k more than this company http://cwgchoices.com/ I don't know where you are or what windows you're after, but I would highly recommend the guy I've been dealing with - Nick Rudd 07703-193583
  6. Are you using a mechanical fix too?
  7. Pretty sure that's a clutch so it doesn't snap your wrist if the core bit jams
  8. You might want to check the weight of them though, trying to get a heavy rubber ladder over the ridge could be an issue?
  9. I believe you have to put at least £100 of the transaction on the C/C to be covered, but the total transaction is covered up to 30k
  10. I know it was block dimensions but my question was really why are they not all in the same direction, which Peter has now cleared up
  11. Hi Terry, If you find a solution, please let me know. My replacement hasn't arrived yet
  12. Thanks Peter, I didn't know it had to be a certain beam average per square meter, so that makes more sense now
  13. I've had some plans back from the beam suppliers and can't get an answer out of them why the spacing is uneven. For instance for the kitchen, it keeps going 215/440/215/440 and then 181/306 at the end which I assume is to fill the end space. But why aren't the beams evenly spaced out? I can only think it's to sell more beams?? Can anyone share any wisdom? Cheers Vijay

  15. use a tile scriber to make a point in the tile, then the drill won't slip. I've used normal drills plenty of times, start off slow till your through the glazing and no hammer action
  16. Not the cheapest but a fantastic work bench is the Triton Superjaws. I've never used anything else since I bought one. Very sturdy and just light enough to throw in the boot of my car when I need to
  17. another option could be tiling it? That's what I did with mine
  18. It used to be £30-40 scrap a few years ago didn't it?
  19. Just out of interest, what's the going rate for a copper cylinder atm?
  20. Is 150mm underneath standard? Just looked at my plans and it states a 225mm minimum void I'm sure I read somewhere about putting a layer of hardcore down to help drainage and also weed membrane????
  21. This is so true, when you're not doing something self-build or reading about something self-build, you're thinking about something self-build. It takes over life completely. Must be lovely to see wildlife in it's natural environment - don't get that in London lol
  22. Cheers Peter. I'm a long way off having grass anyway!! lol
  23. Are there any grass seeds that are more resilient to dog urine?
  24. I tried that one, doesn't recognize the camera. They're sending me another one
