  1. Crazy isn't it. I'm going to dip my tank tomorrow to see if I can get enough in to make an order.
  2. Just for info.. Engineered boards are usually either 14mm or 18-21mm. I think the 14mm is only recommended over concrete floors. Think building regs require 18mm+ on joists.
  3. I think it was May futures that went negative. Actually oil is still positive but watch this space.
  4. Pools can be expensive to heat so id recommend lots of insulation in the walls and good quality glazing. The glazing could well be pretty expensive if you want a 40ft long full height window.

  6. +1 I'd go with good quality pipe, gravel and paving slabs. Much easier to dig up if there are any problems but I reckon it will be fine.

  8. Before you refill yours with new fuel check for bugs in the tank. One caused me no end of grief with poor running. They crawl into the removable spout of my jerry can and then get flushed into the tank when I fill up.

  10. Likewise. I keep looking at the hole in my deck trying to decide if I should get it repaired, replaced or buy welding kit and figure out how to patch it myself.
  11. When I sharpen mine on the bench grinder I balance them by laying them on a triangular file like a seesaw. I don't get too fussy about it and they seem ok. Likewise it's not always possible to set the blades at exactly 90 degrees to each other, they are sometimes a tooth out on the belt. That doesn't seem to be a problem either.

  19. You are being a bit harsh. Nothing a planner tells you is ever legally binding on them. Only formal decisions like planning grants and certificates are legally binding. He's really just pointing that out.
  20. Don't make floor too smooth.. One house we purchased had a tiled floor and a hole in the back wall because the previous owner had driven in a bit too fast in the wet :-)

  23. Welcome to the forum. A 3 acre plot with planning permission would be a king's ransom in many parts.
  24. You are allowed to go to work if you can't work from home and can maintain 2m separation at work. I would have thought it was possible for a valuer to do that. You don't have to hold his hand while he goes around.
  25. I agree, it should not need planning permission. The planners may argue that the left hand end "faces a highway" (the footpath not the shared driveway) but that's a stretch and at worse they might try and persuade you the left hand end should reduce down to 1m. I strongly recommend you agree the exact line of the fence with the neighbour. I would start by paying £6 (£3 each) to download BOTH title plans from the Land Registry web site. The boundary appears to be curved?
