  1. Re planning permission check the rules here. Might not need planning permission. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/200130/common_projects/43/outbuildings You should also check the Permission for your original house as sometimes permitted development rights are removed by a planning condition.
  2. +1 I'd go with good quality pipe, gravel and paving slabs. Much easier to dig up if there are any problems but I reckon it will be fine.
  3. This RPi based CO2 logger claims to come ready to log.. https://www.co2-logger.com/product/co2-logger-development-kit/
  4. Before you refill yours with new fuel check for bugs in the tank. One caused me no end of grief with poor running. They crawl into the removable spout of my jerry can and then get flushed into the tank when I fill up.
  5. No mines a Toro.
  6. Likewise. I keep looking at the hole in my deck trying to decide if I should get it repaired, replaced or buy welding kit and figure out how to patch it myself.
  7. When I sharpen mine on the bench grinder I balance them by laying them on a triangular file like a seesaw. I don't get too fussy about it and they seem ok. Likewise it's not always possible to set the blades at exactly 90 degrees to each other, they are sometimes a tooth out on the belt. That doesn't seem to be a problem either.
  8. Just for info.. I've seen someone on eBay making replacement decks. You have to transfer over bearings, blades etc https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIDE-ON-MOWER-CUTTING-DECKS-Countax-Westwood-kubota-Hayter-Atco-Toro-wheelhorse/183779120782?hash=item2aca16d68e:g:7F4AAOxy4t1SlyCR&_trkparms=ispr=1&checksum=183779120782c3ff37a134634d2da5715f876ba6a207&enc=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&redirect=mobile
  9. Is the window at front or back of the house? Does it look better or odd when moved?
  10. Ok seemed it's a bit more complicated. You have to notify them you are deeming the condition discharged.. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/595/article/29/made Lots of reading for someone.
  11. Bing!... http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/595/article/28/made It appears that many conditions are automatically discharged if they don't respond within 12 weeks. However there is a list of conditions to which this doesn't apply here.. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/595/schedule/6/made
  12. Also found this.. It appears there is a thing called "deemed consent". Presumably if they are too slow you can just assume consent... https://www.local.gov.uk/sites/default/files/documents/dealing-deemed-discharge--f55.pdf See page 4..
  13. I think their only get out would be if they asked you for more information as that probably restarts the clock.
  14. I believe you are. This appears to be the legislation.. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2012/2920/regulation/16/made
  15. You are being a bit harsh. Nothing a planner tells you is ever legally binding on them. Only formal decisions like planning grants and certificates are legally binding. He's really just pointing that out.
  16. Don't make floor too smooth.. One house we purchased had a tiled floor and a hole in the back wall because the previous owner had driven in a bit too fast in the wet :-)
  17. Which council? Have you looked through the local planning policies?
  18. I much prefer full bore ball valves with big levers.
  19. Welcome to the forum. A 3 acre plot with planning permission would be a king's ransom in many parts.
  20. You are allowed to go to work if you can't work from home and can maintain 2m separation at work. I would have thought it was possible for a valuer to do that. You don't have to hold his hand while he goes around.
  21. I agree, it should not need planning permission. The planners may argue that the left hand end "faces a highway" (the footpath not the shared driveway) but that's a stretch and at worse they might try and persuade you the left hand end should reduce down to 1m. I strongly recommend you agree the exact line of the fence with the neighbour. I would start by paying £6 (£3 each) to download BOTH title plans from the Land Registry web site. The boundary appears to be curved? PS There are a lot of fake Land Registry web sites that look more official than the real one which is here.. https://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/eservices/FindAProperty/view/QuickEnquiryInit.do?_ga=2.142727921.539373621.1587135493-582981240.1579888153 You may need to set up an account.
  22. Might be worth asking the neighbours if they had a ground condition report done. We have clay soil and trees and the SE that designed our foundations requested a report and said piles wern't needed.
  23. Would certainly help to see a sketch layout. The rules and height limits are mentioned here. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/200130/common_projects/20/fences_gates_and_garden_walls Normally a fence between two private properties less than 2m high does not need planning permission. However read the four bullet points in the link above to see if any apply. Where such a fence meets the highway boundary it's normally acceptable to reduce/taped the height from 2m down to 1m over one or two panels.
  24. Looks like it failed where the leg of a component came through the board. Needs a good clean up so it can be soldered well.
  25. At least with Bosch it's not too hard to get parts to repair it yourself. Can even get them from Bosch direct.. https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/customer-service/spare-parts-search
