  1. Looks right. 10 x 6M lengths of 41mm x 21mm pre galv plain. The other options are more expensive. This listing has no other options to pick so is more explicit. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-X-6M-UNISTRUT-41MM-x-21MM-PRE-GALV-PLAIN/173353424224?hash=item285cab5560:m:mG19p5Oj7xPYbVQK22gXREw:rk:58:pf:0
  2. You can only claim for a simple hanging rail and a shelf above. From VAT notice 708: The wardrobe should feature no more than a single shelf running the full length of the wardrobe, a rail for hanging clothes and a closing door or doors. Wardrobes with internal divisions, drawers, shoe racks or other features are furniture and are not building materials. If you have added other things leave them off the reclaim.
  3. You can never have too many wardrobes ?. A simple, built in, vat reclaimable wardrobe may be more cost effective than buying wardrobes later. There are very specific requirements to meet to make it vat reclaim eligible however. Is the WC big enough to comply with building regs?
  4. Welcome and congrats on the PP approval. A decent Xmas present indeed. As above, we are nosey folk here lol so let’s see what you plan to build ?.
  5. There are several self build sites on Facebook that seem to allow advertising.
  6. Less than 5 mins since you have now written the email for him to send ?
  7. Forward to their CEO and express dissatisfaction over both the experience and their reply. Assume you are leaving the shower in situ?
  8. eBay is your friend! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332980177676
  9. I’m not technical at all so just my two penneth. If you have a tight budget I would forget the cooling and put in the best heating solution you can afford. I don’t have cooling in my house. It was too hot for a handful of days this summer (23 degrees in some rooms). I simply used a fan and open windows to address.
  10. Welcome! Be good to link the intro into your first blog post. We like a good blog on here, especially one with lots of pics I'm a southerner who went north too, although in my case a bit further north into the Borders. Looking forward to reading the next instalment.
  11. It's all explained in the first few posts here including the links to the processs and forms etc. They don't need to be put in date order or categorised but you do need to give every invoice a reference that is the same as the reference on the claim form, and file the receipts in that order.
  12. Here’s my reply (adapted from @JSHarris‘ post above)
  13. I have older Heatmisers room stats but they don’t have this feature although the one who remembers how long a room takes to heat up is me so I set the on time accordingly ?. They work pretty well. @PeterW may be your man for this question. @lizzie has a newer system. Does yours have this feature @lizzie?
  14. 1300 m2! ? Imagine the hell to be had converting a space of that size! It would cost a fortune!
  15. I actually laid Lino in a kitchen before. Wasn’t that hard, just fiddly. I roughly cut it to begin with to the rough size / shape and trimmed it off afterwards as the kitchen was a faffy shape.
  16. No one Tweeted them so I've done it . Restricted on characters so had to be content with the below. Any plans to remove the restriction whereby UniQs do not accept charge until they are more than 50% depleted? Those with a UniQ are seeing excess PV lost to the grid that they were expecting to top up their UniQ, resulting in hot water unexpectedly running out on occasion. Wait and see if they reply I guess.
  17. Yep meant the cabinet doors. @Onoff will likely have done lino since he never gets anyone in to do anything. He's the most full on DIY person I know lol.
  18. There are 2 here @Tamara. Might be worth downloading these to begin with. I'm not sure what stage you are at in relation to your new build but there will be some prep admin to do. Firstly does your build have a CIL attached to it? If so and it's a build for you to live in (for 3 years at least) you can apply to lift it but only before you have started any build work. If there is no CIL then happy days. Secondly have a read through the VAT reclaim thread so that you understand what you can claim for and what you can't, and those invoices that should be zero rated and those that can't be. It helps to be very organised as far as the tracking of invoices goes as not only does it make it less of a chore to do the VAT claim at the end, but it should highlight any issues with the invoice early on rather than trying to sort things out at the end. Reply on the VAT thread if you have any questions on that subject. There is a fair bit to read but will be something for you to do over Christmas What sort of house are you building? Any plans to share? We all love to see details of other people's projects.
  19. Looks good! Are you painting the doors or leaving them natural?
  20. Anyone with a social media phobia should get over it as far as Twitter is concerned. You can just follow specific companies and / or organisations you have an interest in. No ‘friends’ to interact with, and no interaction needed on your part. Companies like Sunamp are quite active on Twitter and often you’ll read something there way before the webmaster gets round to putting it on the website. You don’t even have to register in your own name, you can just be anonymous if you want to be. They are far more likely to answer a question on Twitter given the public nature of it than via a private email or whatever.
  21. Electric vehicle.
  22. At least they have finally said something publicly. I can’t help thinking that it would have been better to have sent this explanation out with every unit categoried as a C, and their website needs to be updated accordingly.
