Help with kitchen renovation/ 1st house.

Induction hobs look as if they have come down in price quite a bit now. They seem to start at around £200. You can also buy standalone single zones like the one in the link. I don’t know what that one is like, it was just the cheapest. Might be an option if you use low heat / steam a lot. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01DAHBRF6/ref=asc_df_B01DAHBRF657532273/?tag=googshopuk-21&creative=22122&creativeASIN=B01DAHBRF6&linkCode=df0&hvadid=231909287202&hvpos=1o6&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12246219837045509930&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046877&hvtargid=pla-378212831444 -

Induction hobs work by using electromagnetism. They are efficient and you can get a pan to full heat much more quickly than ceramic, and they tend to be much more controllable. They tend to be much more like gas than electric and in fact I prefer them to gas. The pan heats, not the hob so although the hob will be warm after you’ve used it, it’s nothing like the heat generated by a ceramic hob. You can only use certain pans on them though due to the nature of how they work. Essentially if a magnet will stick to the pan it should work with an induction hob. If it’s not the right sort of pan nowt will happen. -
Attaching Christmas wreath to powder coated front door

Stick it outside the main gate somewhere. At least it’s visible there. I don’t put decs up (bah humbug lol) but anything like that would be whipped away by the wind in seconds. I’m still lamenting that I bought a couple of tall planters. I seem to spend more time standing them up again than they spend standing upright! -
Is that only the case in the winter? What about in the summer when PV generated energy is much higher?

Mine are from here (minus the round bits at the bottom of the stairs). I can't tell you how much we paid as they were part of the timber frame kit. I know we paid 1k from memory to upgrade to full oak as the original spec wasn't full oak. https://www.jeld-wen.co.uk/products/stairs/products/prestige/

Stairbox seem popular. Quite a few people here have used them.

They are not supposed to say who has complained but it might be obvious? Do you care though if they are toss.. idiots? I favour the mirror solution! Lots of fun to be had with that!

Aye, a grab adhesive. Means you can fix something on without using nails rather than biting yours like you crapped yer pants ? -

Triple check that you can use them on a ceramic hob! I don't want you coming on saying the thing has shattered into a million fragments! -

You can get heat diffusers / simmer rings that are used for tagines, coffee pots etc but I don't know if you can use them on ceramic hobs. -

Hang an equivalent wreath on the inside and attach to the ribbon to counterbalance it -

No chance of that believe me. When fully on feels so much better than half on there is no chance of the flow being turned down . -
That was my thinking

Think he's more a beer and nuts sort of guy

I’d be buying a couple of electric throws and using them I think. I’ve got one here and it was a lifesaver when my boiler broke down last year. Fan heaters aren’t great in this room either as it’s too large for a silly heater really. I think (don’t quote me!) you have 12 months from the commissioning date to apply for the RHI which is the date on the microgeneration certificate. That should be the date that your installer tests and signs off the system but that implies that it’s working so maybe you don’t have yours signed off yet? You also need the EPC too. What a surprise re the goalposts moving! ?
-
That’s not good, and it’s bloody freezing this weekend for sure. Hope you’ve got some fan heaters just to keep a bit warm. I have a feeling that your installer may struggle to get out alive! ? When do you need to register the system for the RHI payments?
