It has one of those, but is rubbish or don't work. I am with @ProDave fit a cylinder of some sort.

What is the power rating of the element, they are often under the nominal 3 kW. Just don't leave it unattended to be on the safe side.

There are several grades of stainless. Even our food grade 316 can corrode if we use the wrong cleaner on it. https://continentalsteel.com/stainless-steel/grades/ As for painting, no idea. https://theartsuppliers.com/painting/painting-on-stainless-steel-everything-you-need-to-know/ And some stainless can corrode and fail very quickly in the absence of air.

Fuses do not blow at the rated current (well quick blow fuses might). Just like all things mechanical, it is a combination of temperature and time. A 13A fuse will eventually fail even if it has only has a small load, say 7A after enough time. This is why normal 13A outlets are only rated at 10A continuous load. Adding in an extension lead increases the overall resistance and the current drawn goes up. Why we don't run the whole house of a extension leads and have to put up with fixed position outlets.

Why do people fit these for showering. I am staying up at my Mother's house in Third World Buckinghamshire. Carers turn up, so I nip into the shower, carers fill a bowl of water to wash my Mother's arse, or whatever they do. Flow reduces, water goes cold, then temp becomes scalding, after a couple of minutes all back to normal. This is a 30 kW boiler, and the tap down stairs does not have a great deal of flow. Now I know that accumulators and flow valves can be fitted, but really, combis are rubbish, reminds me of the one I had in my first house back in '84. So things have not moved on in 36 years.

Libel/defamatory comments on planning application

That is the Cornish for you. They say what they like about up country folk. They can probably hide behind the mask of not being a publisher, done the social media sites grand for a decade or more. -
That would be like sticking two bi-metalic strips together, back to back. Isn't that basically what glulam is?
-
You really need to quote the range of external temperatures they were tested at, and the flow rates are useful to know. Temperature is not energy, the CPU on my Raspberry Pi probably gets to 50⁰C, but it wouldn't heat much water in a day.

You can look up current gas prices here: https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/uk-natural-gas May take a while to filter though to consumers bills because we have legislation to restrict price volatility.

Or lower capacity ASHPs work well in a lower needs house. Large ones will work well in a leaky house, it is just a case of sizing for the power needs. Don't make financial sense, but that is a separate issue and must not be confused with very basic thermodynamics.

https://pendriveapps.com/software/portable-vnc/ No need to install it either, just pop it into your phone and run it from there as portable storage.

Not if you insulate it well and store the water at a relatively low temperature. My cylinder looses about 0.5 kWh in the time it is idle (and washing up/hand washing), that is on a useage of 2 to 3 kWh. Seems high, but as it is heated by E7, it is 35p/day, standard rate electricity would now cost around 50p/day.

Ah That is what I used in the past, not TeamViewer.

Can't thing like Zoom view and control desktops? I have used TeamViewer, I think there is a way to allow you to log into another machine without the OTP. And Don't Windows already have something built in?

Foil insulation worth paying for better performance?
SteamyTea replied to Happy Valley's topic in Heat Insulation
I seem to remember that as well. Also seem to remember that under the normal thermal conductivity testing regime, they performed worse than traditional insulation.. Bit of light reading here: http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=125&page=1#Item_0 -
Foil insulation worth paying for better performance?
SteamyTea replied to Happy Valley's topic in Heat Insulation
This translate into a U of: Superfoil 0.29 W.m-2.K-1 YBS 0.4 W.m-2.K-1 So effectively 0.1 W.m-2.K-1 different. Check the details carefully as in the past multifoils only met the manufacturers claims if they were installed with other types of insulation. -

Just write back calling them 'little fart'. That should get them on side, and make you feel better. -
Must be the car of choice for Air Testers, @joe90 guy turned up in one as well. So we make airtight houses to reduce energy, then let (expletive deleted) turn up in Rangerovers.

I think there is a Sunamp that can run off a heat pump. Expensive though. Can you fit a cylinder in the loft, or outside in an insulated box? Or just under the stairs. I have a very small house, and have a 200lt cylinder, with enough room above it for another 100 lt.

Both is best

Small All Electric Country Cottage Renovation
SteamyTea replied to Caddy's topic in Introduce Yourself
Depending on the layout, A2AHPs may work, and can take advantage of some of the PV generation. Is there enough width to add some insulation on the outside, and maybe enough height to fit one of these. https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/tf-12000ch/telefunken-tf12000ch-air-conditioner-air-conditioner -

Runs the risk of pulling in even colder air. EAHPs work best when you have a warm house. -
