  1. Not as yet as I am trying to get all my ducks lined up, pull together the various fragmented ideas and present it in a legible format. The paper stuff does not do justice to the wild picture in my head !

  2. You took the words right out of my mouth It's taken all f**ing day mind. No wonder plumbers get paid so much! And yes, the bend and double one both done in one: Edit: Got to be bloody careful not to open any of these valves as the sh!tty gate valves the other end are letting by!

  3. Hubby used to fit automated gates when we lived down south. I think he tended to fit BFT and CAME. You possibly already know but there was a ton of legislation introduced when 2 children were crushed to death by automated gates in separate incidents a few years ago. Whatever you buy should meet safety standards and the person who installs the automation should be ‘competent’ and fully understand all of the regulations. They are considered to be machinery and are governed by the machinery directive. They can be dangerous beasts if not installed and operating correctly.

  4. I sincerely hope so! Once the house is done, there is a life-long garden project to tackle.

  6. It totally does. One of the reasons the houses are taking so long is that I spend so much time in the gardens trying to transform them from fairly mono cultured environments (sheep paddock, bogland and craggy hillsides) into something that will one day be able to at least compliment there surroundings. But the surroundings are soooo stunning that even with ones best efforts its hard to bring the two together, but I do like the challenge.....

  7. When I got my property it was very neglected and in a terrible state, its going to take many years to pull it all together. I spent my life savings on it and the main reason was location location location. My dreams are endless And living in such a stunning location is very inspiring. Looking south through the shed door down the property. Looking west from top of property. Looking north 2 minutes walk from northern end of property.

  8. You say you will need to push it back out why can you not pull as well as push. Tie a pull cord on the end of the track pipe and poke it inside the duct power float over and dig it out when finished one pulling, one pushing.

  9. Ive just had a garden wall done in krend to match the hugely expensive alumasc render on the house. The garden wall was wobbly block and a real eysore. The block had hairline cracks here and there so he put mesh in those areas. He also coverered te wall in sbr before starting. There are copings on the top of this wall as its 3m high. I am going to get the same man to do me raised planters a bit like your photo @Declan52 I will top with those with a ‘coping’ cut from patio tiles so it matches I dont think leaving to top just rendered will be very durable.

  10. Came across these on ebay last night, still the same LiFePO but these support 100% DoD, same batteries used on the London Buses apparantly: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BYD-B-Plus-2-56kWh-Solar-Battery-storage-100-DOD/322754585457?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Still a bit top heavy on price, but not too bad considering the 100% DoD?
