Where are all the SIPs suppliers???
Plumbersmateuk replied to hmpmarketing's topic in Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)
I found him very helpful. When the time comes I am going to pay him a visit as he has given me a provisional quote on a 2 1/2 storey house. Having said that I have a couple of others that I intend to get quotes from and visit. Yes I was concerned about this, I have tried to find as much information on SIP's failing as I can. I do have a list of questions to put to the companies when/if I visit them. -

I got in touch with http://superiorsippanels.co.uk/ They got back to me pretty quickly . Their SIP's are cementitious (I think that's the right word) so apparently you can render straight on top of them? -
It would appear that he has gone back to Wilma and taken Dino out for a walk..............Oooops soorry but that sort of attitude is from the stone age

Yeah I was going to go but I was worried they would tell me the breakers yard was down the road.

Plumbersmateuk replied to Jude1234's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
Yup I have had 2 off them 1 for myself and 1 for somebody else. Mine is 8 years old and still as good as when fitted They come ready to fit, that's where I will be getting the next one when needed. -
Many thanks for that most helpful

The icons should be in a .dll or .exe file and you can extract them using an icon viewer or extracter. Can't rember which I used when I used to do this to customise things

HA I now have to admit my mistake Dam.....I thought I would be clever. I used a channel and diffuser (diffuser because I do not like to see the individual LED's) but laid the strip in the channel so that if I needed to replace them I could just pull them out, WRONG, they need a heat sink otherwise they over heat, so I took them out and stuck the new ones to the channel, been no problem. Just need to be on something that can dissipate the heat.
-
I can't say for RGB but I have bought a fair amount of strips over the last few years and because of my sporodic purchases from various supliers some UK based and fleabay and I have found them all to be as far as I can tell the same. The reason for me buying so many is I am trying to make my own fittings as the ones I really like are far to much money. The ones I have used in my house (some have been in 8 yearish) have given me no problem apart from the very first ones when I didn't put them on a decent heatsink so they started to fail.

Luverlly......A real home, and for £666/m2 your back ought to be sore for all the pats
-
Just for info: I have these albeit from a different supplie, threads are BSP so I used Irons. Pic of one of them here https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/topic/3245-shower-tray-tiles-and-all-the-rest/?page=4&tab=comments#comment-61598

Done, I have managed to get a really good relationship going with the council and so far so good. I told them that I new very little about the process and would they advise me along the way, which they have and all is looking good. I just hope this is carried forward, can't see why not. Hmmmmm that's me in a few years

Well thanks for the pics, love seeing what other people are doing, trials, tribulations, hair pulling etc. Hope you start a blog, believe you have to ask admin? Look forward to your updates.

Well thanks for the tips Lol My plot has two TPO's one from I believe the 50's and another the 90's. There has been development to the rear of the plot as you can see in the previous pics so the council are well aware of what is or isn't there. I have to say I am optomistic as I have had no problems so far considering it is a conservation area. The planners actually said, and in writing that they haven't a problem with what I want to build or the materials I use as the house will be screened, basiclly nobody can see it. Still got me fingers X

Had a site meeting (informal) with the councils arborist recently. He couldn't see why there would be any objections to removing the trees that I need to. So today I have submitted my planning application for the removal of them, sit and wait with fingers X
