  1. Slight heat in the floor. actuators open and working, driven from Heatmiser stats in each room
  2. I've had a look and the manifolds are both running at 30 degrees. (Screed downstairs, timber upstairs) I've dialled the upstairs one to 45deg see if that makes any odds on it!
  3. We've got our heating commissioned but we aren't getting a warmed through house as of yet.. now that could be that we don't have the loft insulated yet, and we only have the heat downstairs on set back for tiling. But I am a little concerned that after an hour or two of boost we haven't really got any warmer upstairs. Interestingly, the manifolds are warm on the send and return so I wonder if the pump speed is too fast? should the returns be cold? or should they be hot? How do I balance and set this lot up!
  4. One month further on.... scaffold is down. Pictures tell all..
  5. All a bit of an anticlimax. Fella turned up, had a good nose and a brew. Gave a valuation 10k short of doubling the value. That’ll do!
  6. Good call Ferdinand. We currently have no insulation at all...
  7. Before I buy 300mm of knauf loftwool and lay it in is there anything I should be doing instead? It’s a fairly regular 70’s house heavily renovated. Not terribly high performance but should meet current BR standards!

    Bi fold doors

They can be fab, had them in a small 4 bed townhouse on Basingstoke. Used them all the time to link the (tiny) garden and the smallish 6m*6m living dining kitchen space. They created a real wow space here. Went with a many sets of French doors on the new build. Mostly a cost / clutter decision. Bofolds don’t have have a lot of hinges / brackets nobs and bits on them. Didn’t really fit with the velfac clutter free look.
  9. Get it shipped here if you like? Then onward shopped?
  10. Ever ever, say it’s just the skirting and architraves to do before the carpets again. Kill me, just kill me. I’ve been on it all weekend and I’ve still a few hours to go before driving to London tonight. At least we got the fire lit!
  11. Up to date photos with the protective films off :-) The lights are collingwood led lytes centred on the doors to add texture when the main lights are off.
  12. Evening pudding. The units are Metods, the doors are kallarps. In general they are all off the peg. I’ve sectioned one in a corner to get a perfect fit. The large run of the units doesn’t have a corner post. Instead the surplus in the run (circa 60mm) is sectioned with some oak trim (this is 12mm skirting slipped in place between the units) in terms of style I wanted symmetry on the back wall, and I wanted drawers around the entire base to give a continuous feeling. Have a play with the designer and post up here. Lots of opinion freely given!
  13. Add a little carrot, celery and some sage and you have the corner stone of a decent game soup there.
  14. Indeed. I’ve taken some comfort in the thought of the Sarah Beeny soft play centre for grownups though.
  15. Three doors a day on site here. £22 per hour
  16. It’s starting to make more sense. One last riddle. The heatmiser UH8 doesn’t have anything (voltage) on the manifold pump. This could I guess be a couple of things. The zone valve is not connected, or the call for heat is not connected. (Which never will be, as the boiler is disconnected and buffered via the TS) So I probably need to bridge the connections on the heat call and then it should hopefully lite up the pump circuit. All the stats are calling for heat
  17. Hmm, from a bit more digging, looks like LEN is on the Grey, Earth, Blue sets, then Brown is switched live to open it? and then Orange is an outbound switched live. (not needed in my case) So I need to get LEN and switched Live to it. @Nickfromwales any insights?
  18. So I've got the heating mostly sorted but the Zone valves are twisting me melon. They are from the TS to the manifolds and they have 5wires. This is 2 more than expected... We have Earth, Live, Neutral + Grey and Orange. I'm suspecting that these are switched lives? used to make sure that the boiler / pump is stoked up before the valve opens. Given that the boiler is effectively seperate to the circuit (buffered via TS) and the Manifold controller runs the pumps then they just need a bridge between Grey and Orange and then we make the rest / hot or not as needed by the heatmiser controllers (which have LEN) for the zone valves. Anyone care to comment?
  19. Come and get the spare out of my garage. Please! It’s a reasonably modern hotpoint @recoveringacademic
  20. @TerryE that’s exactly the use case I’m going to apply with the Fibaro door sensors - however I’m not going to try and infer a door is open. It’ll create an event in the system and if it remains open for more than 15mins then I’ll set the relevant stats to setback temp.
  21. I’m looking into whether I can override the displays of the heatmisers in code. So they say 24c at about 19.... that should do it :-)
  22. Run internally then popped out in our house, but we are not a super high spec new build just a renovation. What I would add though is a hot and cold in each location. We have hot and cold in place for the garden shower and as a keen biker we have a hot and cold by the garage door for cleaning dirty bikes. Much nicer than ice cold water on a dark and muddy night.
  23. Thats the key differentiator, this is not a problem our house has!
