Yes, helps keeps heat loss down on hot pipes and condensation on cold pipes. climaflex comes in varying thickness so allow for this when running pipes , with suitable pipe clips.

E-Golf.

Depends on the battery size, divide the car battery capacity by 7 as it’s a 7kW charger. My car is limited to 7kW anyway
-
Yes, that’s the one!
-
Not homemade just a no frills type 2 ev charger. 7kW/32 amp

So that’s the inside. Solid box. contactor butted up to the side of the controller. back of box pre drilled for mounting, some what invalidating IP rating as where box lid unscrews has already a fixing hole in each corner, sealed when box lid tightened up. all conductors crimped. large Allan key termination for incoming power

It’s the risk assessment part that could come to bite you in the backside if you didn’t do it or fit SPD and are renting them out and lightning damage occurred the website I linked to has surge protection and a mcb so takes 2 ways space in a consumer unit for less than £30 its the ‘fuse box range’ indeed they have a metal board with dual RCD and SPD fitted starting from £97. Just require extra mcbs at £2 each.

https://www.expertelectrical.co.uk/delivery/ metal and RCD yes. spd your call but for all it costs see attached link as an example

It’s his insurance protection to over engineer to allow for poor installation methods. not everyone out there is as fastidious about the details as we are

Mortgage completion vs Builder contract timing
TonyT replied to aims's topic in Self Build Mortgages
If your architect is managing the payments and you are happy crack on. just make sure you have a defects period and a good amount to cover getting someone else back in to do it. sometimes architects and main contractors can have relationships and all you are is the cheque book, they move on to work on the next job, maintaining their relationship you are forgotten about so make sure all the decisions are based on your interests and not what’s easy for the main contractor -
Use a smaller basket? use a blue IKEA bag? lots of solutions about

A unistrut frame? -
This will be the engineer that in the past probably delivered to top floor flats etc. let’s not make a drama out of nothing. small plinth made level and machine pulled onto that, couple of breeze blocks and a bit of wood.

It’s a full sheet job and cut down I’m afraid. it’s what most merchants will stock anyway, loose the extra if any in the foundations so that’s a bonus?
-
If you are building in brick I would stick with the same theme and do brick and block to get a nice thick wall, it will help deaden the noise, it’s easy for trades to build, nothing complicated there. Concrete floor. maybe paint finish blocks on the inside to make it look nicer and paint it to bounce light about. ofcourse lots of different options depending on cost, preference etc

It can handle up to 45amp

https://owen-brothers.co.uk/singlephase/ob112-50a-sp-meter-mid-b-d.html it has 2 terminals for pulse output.

I enjoy technology, just don’t want everything in the house to act like an EMP has wiped everything when the WiFi goes down!

I spent all of £17 for a din rail electricity meter, the size of an MCB that can take 45 amps. Good value and worth considering for certain installations where you are happy to go and read the meter. I’m going to install on my EV charger to record this consumption.

But a standard dumb immersion heater learns demands too- when hot water is used, its replaced with cold water and the thermostat activates and heats water via element. I fail to understand the obsession with apps for every day items.

Decent welfare facilities in this day and age should be properly planned and considered so good to see you giving appropriate attention. just watch the tripping hazard around the manhole chamber with regards the 4” pipe.
