  1. Pcc every time. Never used warranty never had a problem
  2. Anyone who works more than 8 hours in my experience seems to be eastern European. Any bloke worth their salt does 8 hours. I start at half 7 and start packing up at half 3. Sometimes I'm gone by 15.35 other times 16.00 The trade has been decimated by people working away from home happy to plod on 7am till 7pm with no life.
  3. 3 or 4 days at 250 then? Tbf your mvhr system and unit cheap at 400 fair play
  4. Did a charity come and do all the labour for you then?
  5. Seems I was right...funny that. I think the main problem getting an unbiased opinion of people who have it is that they've spent so much money on the system, so much time on detailing the airtightness, they won't be honest with themselves about how good it is. As you say location and climate important factors, as is usage of the house. Home all day in winter and large family vs single person or couple household who work full time.
  6. It is the same area that's why there's 5no 20p as opposed to 1no. 5p
  7. Just going to put the spade bits in my drill for the car experiment
  8. Yes I'm bored. Doesn't look as big a difference as you make it sound
  9. Window guy I used to use built his own house. Stuck (litterally) the trickles on till it was signed off then whipped them off.
  10. Tell us again how much you saved....
  11. Good shout although in my old place I couldn't avoid it. Put a massive mirror in taking up the whole wall above the bath. Was good actually. Room felt twice as big. Trim beard over bath easy to clean.
  12. Not being pedantic but wouldn't it depend on glazed area? I always understood airtightness to be the best bang for buck?
  13. Fack me @nod you love to live dangerously don't you
  14. As a developer might be worth checking out PIV @Ferdinand has 1 or 2 in his rentals
  15. I think French doors are more forgiving if your just using 1 door all the time. Its a lot of expense to have opened up a handful of times but all depends how you live. I've always had French doors in my places and I never seem to open the slave door. We sit either inside or outside
  16. ? cry to me when you struggle to heat your house.
  17. I've got one myself but I think a lot of buyers can't help bit justify it After spending a few grand! Not all builders are lobbying the govt. Maybe a few big nationals but I bet there are hundreds of regionals. We haven't got the skills to be mass passive builders atm end of.
  18. Maybe. Remind me what % UK contributes to carbon emissions let alone home energy usage
  19. Actually thinking about it didn't our Theresa bring in a cap on energy prices?
  20. I remember Jeremy saying 10 years ago the govt couldn't control energy prices. He might of been right but till you see energy prices double or maybe triple nobody normal is going to prioritise passive
  21. So if the govt doesnt regulate for it and the market doesnt demand it, why do people get upset when the builders don't build it!? To be honest I don't think you can call the average buyer stupid for not knowing or caring about it. Life is short at the end of the day
  22. Companies building to the regs aren't taking advantage of anything. They're building a house to the regs the govt sets out. Why the hell would they build passive it's such a niche market most homebuyers won't even know what it means.
  23. Earthworm the frame fit stuff
  24. Scrap that works best as is
  25. I like it. Just a thought is the family bath better off there or on the side wall? Probably end up too deep on the side of house but you have more length that side
