  1. We are running our upstairs radiators on a ufh manifold but this is being feed of a buffer tank.
  2. No olive needed with your fittings!
  3. Just about to install the utility worktops. Solid oak butcher block from diy kitchens. Whats everybody used to seal it. Varnish or oil? Any brands recommend?
  4. Block paving is out. Two very different styles but both would suit house. Parents have concrete imprint done in the early 90's and it still looks V good with only sealed every few years. Slightly prefer the resin bound look but don't want problems. Think Slightly swaying towards concrete imprints.
  5. OK, narrowed driveway/patio down to two options. Concrete imprint and resin bound (one mixed then applied). Has anybody either diy ?
  6. Our plan is a operating a few zones in a similar size to you trissac, but with modern looking all singing stats operating in a dumb mode ie basic roomstat.
  7. We have a few round pin plugs in new build aswell for lamps.
  8. We have just chopped standard height units down to a bespoke height (knee level) for sitting the washing machine machine/tumble dryer on to. Pretty simple but the section below will be open for baskets. Units from diy kitchens. I also seen diy had lower legs available.
  9. @ProDave I did read your thread regarding oak flooring for door architrave, I did find someone selling over 2m long planks wide enough with 6mm top layer of oak i was considering copying you.
  10. Today while installing the boot room (diy kitchens) we used oak cuttings from the back of the carcass in the dressing room (tight for floor space so cut carcass) for packing out the sides. I was chuffed with my penny saving solution. What penny saving solution have you done during the build ?
  11. I have finally gotten around to installing the pan drawers but I seam to be missing some parts. I can't seam to find the blum gallery rail, plates on to the drawer front and no screws for attaching drawer fronts. I have contacted diy kitchens and they said it was clipped into/with the runners but I can't see any. Am I missing something simple or are they simply not been supplied. I am using diy kitchens for the dressing room. Up to now I have been happy with the quality of units. I have attached a picture (not a diy kitchen picture) to give you a idea of what I am looking for.
  12. I presumed at over 2k it was a new boiler.
  13. I am sorry to say its a dam sight better than ours!
  14. Plenty of room for access to the boiler. Put down a floor below and a light above. Job done.
  15. +1 for natural wood, I got a sample of the aluminium vulcan board tbh I was a wee bit disappointed.
  16. Scary! Ruswood was way over when I priced a few years back. I ended up getting my cedar from travis perkins of all places who sourced it from a supplier in Glasgow.
  17. Cheers for update. I like this idea for a wall hung bathroom vanity unit, maybe 1000-1200 wide.
  18. How did you get on @Ralph ?
  19. Just found our colour sample we made up with F&B pelt (deep purple) and DIY has a very good match.
  20. We used the bespoke painted option but never compared it to the f&b sample we made up. We where delighted with what came from diy.
  21. My experience was different and very similar to bozza. They gave me a del week and delivered by two drivers in two vans on Tuesday. Drivers where pleasant and efficient. One unit was damaged and the replacement arrived within two weeks. Quality seams good considering the price. Still to be fitted. Wow knowing what I got for £7k (utility, bootroom and dressing rm) bespoke painted units (no appliances no worktops no sinks) you must have a very big kitchens for £20k of material!
  22. Its just the left over from the my plumbing days. We had a set up with a gulitine to cut off solder fittings and any brass fittings.
  23. Anybody know if scrap is up or down just now. I have approx 100kg of copper and was wondering if worth digging out of corner of garage or leave it for another 5 years.....
  24. Starting to think about driveways. Shortlisted to two options, resin bound (not bonded) or concrete imprinting. Anybody done either on a diy basis, came across a companies offering training on both products. I think the resin would be easier but the concrete a lot cheaper.
