Before choosing R9 I looked at many different upvc windows veka were about £14k and R9 about £19k. Veka didn't look as good or hAve the detailing. Not sure which poor reviews you have seen, but with any windows there can be problems, particularly with fitting, these are particularly important to fit correctly so you really want a firm that has a number of houses to show you and experience of working with this product

I've got the residence R9 windows, wood effect upvc and am very pleased. They are expensive against the cost of ordinary upvc though

920x200 is not too long. Maybe you mean 1920x200? I would use a long level to mark your cuts the use an old wood saw to cut it.

I had a similar problem with a used sprayer and ended up rolling. I will have to get it to an approved repairer for overhaul. I think in my case it's a bearing, but after so long trying to get it to work I figure it's easier to get someone who deals with this every day to repair it.

When he is inspecting stop him on the second half landing to ask him about the spindle spacing etc so he has to stop. So long as he doesn't walk up or down the full flight at once he will never notice.

Just to clarify, these upvc fascias from were taking about from GAP are not clad on, they are 18mm solid foam wrapped in upvc grain that you nail directly to the rafter feet.
-
The white woodgrain upvc fascias are good. These are also from GAP, but they are available from a lot of places (can't recall the actual manufacturer ), just GAP was the cheapest at the time. The ridge beam and finial are actually painted wood

They grey pumice looking material might be vermiculite mixed with cement? I'm sure it can be removed.

What have you got behind the plasterboard to fix on? I presume timber, if so for the first timer I would say clots would be easiest, but the plasterer will take 10 mins to do a job which will take you an hour! Stress to him the importance of it being sure etc and ask if you can check it before he starts laying on

If you want to order from wickes you need to be on their website between 7am and 3pm I think, after that they don't show stocks.

No plaster available for the next 3 weeks at least I'm told

My transaction didn't go through, but I got it even cheaper today at 21.4p. £112.35 for 500l inc vat, I paid £241.26 for the same in September. -

Oil boilers are pretty expensive compared to gas boilers and the storage tank takes up a decent amount of space. It's something I would avoid at the design stage if at all possible unless you have an existing building fabric you have to work with e.g listed etc -

I finally decided to take the plunge and top up at 24.6ppl for kerosene heating oil. Now that the panic buying is over the price has really plunged the past two days and as crude continues to fall. Hopefully I will have space in the tank for another 500l if crude drops to $15 a barrel -
Have a read of the local plan. Usually the council have a stipulation of a MAXIMUM number of parking spaces.

You can get essential items click and collect from b&q (over £100) or delivery from wickes (over £75) but there is at least a weeks wait for delivery

I've got a feeling that you don't pay an application fee for planning permission for something which would be permitted development if your rights have been removed

I think we are seeing a little bit of profiteering from heating oil companies at this time. I had a price of 34.41ppl on 9th March when brent crude was around $35 a barrel. Brent has fallen below $30 a barrel but the price now is 39.7ppl. I suppose this is because there's more demand for heating oil with everyone staying at home self isolating -

No reason why you couldn't use standard kitchen cabinet feet hidden behind a plinth https://www.toolstation.com/hafele-kitchen-unit-leg-set/p61932

It depends on your plumbing layout, but if you are having a radial type layout somewhere between the manifold and the shower. So for example if the water is coming from above in a loft space, you could put it in there.

I had a similar problem. SWMBO wanted a very smooth finish which you cant get with k rend. I found someone to do it in sand white cement and lime to give a "stone" colour, but they under quoted and finished off the last 10% sloppily so it looked patchy around the windows so I ended up painting it with Johnsons self cleaning paint.

Looks a good price to me

Fit an inline Y strainer in an accessible place instead
