Cheers Yesss do them near me, and the merchant price is the same as TLC without delivery so may go that route. Next question is where to get a length of DIN rail top hat..

Does anyone have a decent supplier of meter boxes ..? Is around the £30 inc VAT about the going rate for one delivered ..?

Masterdor make an external fire door - http://www.masterdor.co.uk/masterdor-fire-door Are your internorm doors Aluclad as they should meet FD30 without an issue

Gas Grease ..?? Would need to be something that's ok with potable water and I know Silicone doesn't react with MDPE
-
Shouldn't really need anything if the rings are intact ... if you can dry it out a quick smear of clear silicone sealant (WRAS approved of course) sho

I built one using guitar strings - cheap as chips and worked really well.

Opinions required please.

You can leave a 1700 x 700 space for a bath and just put a big walk in shower in its place - the room will look much bigger and if someone wants a bath then it's not difficult to retrofit. -
Unless you cast in one go, dying the concrete will end up a mess ... Small batches are really difficult to get right consistently ! Why not block and render ..?

Yes I thought I had seen it too and it's to do with inner rooms and inner inner rooms ..! The odd thing in this instance is that we would be going from a habitable room to an inner room to exit - will check with BCO (thanks @MrP)

.... and if it doesn't, just explain to the Neighbours that it was early snow ...!

The website said power density ..!

These make interesting reading https://www.citb.co.uk/documents/cdm regs/industry-guidance-principal-designer.pdf http://www.citb.co.uk/documents/cdm regs/2015/cdm-2015-principal-contractors-interactive.pdf I've just downloaded the CDM construction plan risk app and it's brilliant ..!! Generated the risk plan in less than 10 minutes...

Only downside is getting it in the UK can be a challenge - £25 vs $8 in Home Depot ..! I will get some shipped back next time my mate comes over ..! You can get small tubes on eBay for about £5 and they last for ages if you don't do a lot of plumbing.

There are a fair few - Solar Century were first but the key problem in the U.K. is around variable pitch roofing. In the US it's common to use a standard pitch so the cells will all be at the correct density and spacing. Note they say they will last longer than asphalt tiles (shingles) which would indicate 20+ years. I will see if I can find it but the key problems with any of these is the complexity of connection between the strings, and the issue that they get warm in use - warmer the panel, lower the output. The 98% thing from Tesla is also difficult to quantify as they don't say against what ! Polycrystalline and monocrystalline cells have slightly different performance (16-19% IIRC) so you're talking 2% of an average 18%... or 0.36% performance differential...!! These will not be cheap and I can't see them being as easy to install as say a GSE integrated panel system. The bit they haven't put is that they appear to have doubled the power density on their new batteries that may be heading for the powerwall units - that is a big step forward !

I've got a query on MoE and the routes to an egress point. For various reasons we will end up with Velux windows in the master bedroom which ideally will be above the bed and also around 5ft from the floor. This creates a couple of issues as they then no longer qualify for MoE unless we build in some sort of permanent step to the window. However... the master has an ensuite with a velux that would work as an MoE window but as far as I can see from the regs, this is classed as an inner room so the expectation is that to exit the building you would go into the main room to exit in event of a fire. Can anyone see an issue doing it the opposite way ...?? Alternative is that I create a fireproof stairwell but that would mean 7 or 8 fire doors which adds a significant cost.

I've got my dads T-2 Rectorseal that is a minimum 15 years old as he's been dead 13...! Best ptfe paste I've used ..!! Only threw out his flux this summer as it had gone green ....

Can you remember which manufacturer / seller the mats were from ..?? Plan to do something similar with the timing controlled from a central point.

Depends what you want to know..? They look as though when the levels are sorted the first ones should be fine - last pic is odd as it looks like the downpipe gully goes into the chamber.?? Easy test is to pour a bucket of water down the farthest one and watch the flow.

I've used a hinge jig once and it made life very easy - downside was I borrowed it and it was about £300 worth ! It was so quick and easy - used the radiused hinges and all fitted perfectly. The other thing with the hidden hinges is that they don't go equidistant - two at the top and one at the bottom from memory for heavier doors.
