I would not use solar glass in that instance but that’s because like you I prefer non permanent solutions !!
-
OK so a recent one I have done used triple glazing but had the option of acoustic. In the end we went with triple all round and it has been perfect. Definitely reduced noise and there was a mainline railway 50m away. Triple also increases your uValue slightly but I expect they will be 4/12/4/12/4 units so not as efficient as units with 16 or 20mm spacers. In terms of weight, the french doors (1600x2010) are absolutely fine and no issues with them. Suncool from Pilkington is a product range not a single glass type - you need to know which he is suggesting as it does make a difference to the solar gain. However... unless you have more than 20% window to floor area then I wouldn't be concerned if it isn't a passive build. And ... I've never seen a sexy window... maybe I need to search harder !

Shower more ..? Or is this the purpose of installing the new tray ..?? ? In more seriousness, you should limit what you try and move on your own as a lot of accidents happen when people over exert themselves and it can be long term debilitating or potentially fatal if you are trapped under something heavy.

Yes that would make a lot of sense. Run the 3rd phase off to a separate location. You will struggle with more than a single horse box. Capacity on even the biggest PHEV Range Rovers is limited to 2500kg with 150kg nose weight so anything like twin or triple axle EquiTrak boxes with 2 horses is likely to trip over that limit.

These only work when you have spring loaded handles.

Not sure there are regs on handle height in England and Wales. Unsprung are ok but buy decent latches..!
-
Ouch !!! I’ll come and do it for £95... @Nickfromwales can labour for me ..! Assuming this is onto a 150mm sub base that is onto a scraped site, it should be around £15/m for the sub base and then £10/m for sand and cement at 50mm to bed the slabs. Your slabs are £17/m so £20/m to lay and point you should be around the £60/m all in at most.

You shouldn’t run them from the CU - split them onto their own consumer units as close to the meter head as possible. Standard CU is not designed to take a full 32A for 5-6 hours continuously. Ideally you should put an isolator in at the meter and then run each off on its own sub main from the henleys.

That’s why I suggest using the Post Office for the line as there is no contract after 30 days.
-
Nope - just register for a new line with BT or use the Post Office and they will sort the rest.

Slip ties should be every other block course although NHBC say 300mm which can be a challenge with blocks unless there are ties between the courses to the back wall. http://www.nhbc.co.uk/Builders/ProductsandServices/TechZone/NHBCStandards/TechnicalGuidanceDocuments/61/filedownload,65367,en.pdf

That isn’t a bad price for an alarm installed tbh - the Texecom Ricochet I fitted recently was £450 just in components. They act as a deterrent in some instances but more than likely something like CCTV is a bigger deterrent - or a dog.... Not sure the regs have caught up with the 21st century yet but I think you could argue that a video doorbell meets the requirement. Never actually seen a BCO check but I’m sure there is always a first ....

You can still buy them. Regs are a bit vague about replacing them too as some say you can without permission as long as it’s to a leach field. Can’t see from that photo but could also be being used as rainwater tank as that is a common use and they are pretty easy to install.

Looks about right for a spec builder - that one won’t be air tested ...

The closest I’ve seen is having the bracket 3D printed and used as a casting template. Due to size - they are 250mm on each leg - then the 3D has to be a pretty big unit. I’ve got some adjustable aluminum ones I’ve seen but waiting to see if I can get them TIG welded to become a single unit as they don’t seem to be able to lock at any angle.
-
Hadn’t considered laser or water jetting. Could also get them made in layers and welded up.
-
Considered making the pattern myself and getting it cast. The issue is I can’t cast anything other than Aluminium.

One rule for them, another for us proles

So the law is clear on this and the arrears would be payable. However the key words in the line are in bold above, where the Council have not previously followed the law to the letter and have let the arrears lie on file and not chased as ultimately it usually costs them more to recover than it is worth to the Council. This creates the legal precedence of custom and practice where it can be used as a defence in law (this is civil not criminal law) which is therefore the reason why they won’t pursue this. -
Thanks - I’ve seen one or two and also found that I may be able to get an adjustable tie bar so looking at those too.

I’ve got a project on the go which will be to replicate a small section of a Victorian greenhouse but I’ve come up against a bit of an issue with some of the wall to roof junctions and in particular these sort of castings that provide the strength. (This is an example) Hunting round the salvage yards I’ve seen a few available but they are eye watering in price and also come at the wrong angle as the project is in line with an existing building. Anyone seen any online or other casting suppliers for this sort of low volume casting that isn’t going to set me back £300 a bracket as I only really need two.

I use LED flat panels. About £20 and easy to wire and lean up anywhere.
