  1. this self-building stuff has ruined me too as for years I told my wife what 12 inches looks like and now she's confused about timber sizes etc.
  2. here's my install. so much nicer than on-roof!
  3. this is correct. we have Norrsken windows and are very happy with them but they are made by Viking windows. personally I would highly recommend Norrsken.
  4. I'll need to borrow your tape measure first, to make sure I measure it up correctly. ?
  5. for me to know and you to find out on crime watch in about 20 years (that's a joke by the way before anyone tries to track me down to call the police! it's really going to be used for music room, cinema, golf studio and games room for the kids)
  6. just plasterboard over it. a real dungeon doesn't need light.
  7. I don't know how much man made costs as I never even thought about using them but good natural slate doesn't have to break the bank! we paid around £1.30 per slate for Spanish slates from Jewsons (Mont Azul Lombeiro slates). personally I think they look fantastic and our roofer said they were really good to work with.
  8. oooohhhh! is it good?
  9. just been down to measure.....3.075m that's from proposed FFL to underside of beams. the screed is being laid Monday so I've subtracted that thickness (50mm) and the LVT thickness (10mm) from the current figure of 3.135m. do I win some walk-on-glazing?
  10. oh! we're INCLUDING the dungeon courtyard then are we? in that case, I need to add an extra 19m2 so I'm now up to 134m2 <doing the happy dance>
  11. you are SMALL dungeon King. ? and remember, no matter what she says, size does matter.
  12. only a single phase inverter though. not sure if that makes a difference. either way, 1 will suffice.... .....for now
  13. errr....about 115m2
  14. please keep us (me) updated on this as, due to various reasons I won't go in to here, my Powerwall install has been cancelled and so before I go and find another installer for a Powerwall I thought I'd investigate other battery options and will be interested in your other battery experiences. interesting that you're going Solar Edge battery and not the Solarwatt that @Nickfromwales is suggesting. I thought Solarwatt had more experience in the battery segment?
  15. I'll have this very same question for my mega dungeon in the future so thank you @pocster for posting it and @Dudda for answering it! ?
  16. CT1? seems to fix most issues for you.
  17. just make sure you measure it correctly..... ......I'll get my coat.
  18. with 360mm rafters could you potentially consider blown in cellulose to fully fill that space? I guess you might have to get someone else to do it as I believe it's specialised but maybe get the cost taken off from the builder and use that money to get someone else to fit. just a thought.
  19. I have many Erbauer tools and am very happy with them. not bought a tool (or much tbh) from Wickes for quite a while! ?
  20. well, I guess that depends on the size of the array! which is also the question I should've asked. ?
  21. is that including a battery or just PV?
  22. I still have a 20-ish yr old Wickes Professional sliding mitre saw that is still going strong. I think that if you're not using them all day every day the cheaper brands are perfect for DIY usage.
  23. I'll be interested to know your thoughts when you do manage to get it out of the box. thanks, sounds like a worthwhile little purchase then.
  24. thanks Ian but not sure I have the space for a full sized table saw. hence the interest in the Evolution portable one.
