  1. You can see where I chipped off the render at the sides to get the width: Then the drawing I gave to the guy who fab'd the window: Wedging and foaming: As ever, helped at every step of the way by the good folk on here! Homemade wedges were invaluable. Rather than expanding foam I'd use Compriband next time as I did on the second window I did.
  2. I dug out whatever to get to the outside of the wood frame and measured there.
  3. Do you have a radon gas issue locally? Just wondering if you'll have to consider a specific DPM?
  4. As far been said many times in here...You only pay for insulation ONCE! As in put enough in & do it right and it'll serve you well and as fuel costs double, triple, quadruple the impact will affect you less.
  5. 3 to cut! Got to wait for the Grab 'n Bonded one above to go off: 37 x13 the one in the very corner: Then once I've the cabling soldered to the LED strip and heatshrunk, this one in the pocket.
  6. Are you relying on the pond to fill up naturally?

  8. Looks like my lad's uni rental garden. Throw in some cracked manhole covers and it could be. Cheeky f***ers have in the lease the boys are supposed to keep it in good order!
  9. Astroturf?
  10. I'll hopefully be fitting a Berstein wc to Geberit frame shortly. One of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIMLESS-WALL-HUNG-WALL-MOUNTED-TOILET-NT2038-Ceramic-Soft-close-duroplast-seat/282355252671?
  11. If slate then that'll likely extend out into the house and garden. Think I'd dig a small hole outside to see how soon I hit slate or whatever.
  12. Can't you bring the <100m "cheap" length to the garage then feed another cu in the house from there with all the circuits that might trip and require resetting in the house / plant room and thus more easily accessible? Say the garage door supply trips that'll screw your wheelchair user.
  13. On the main house rather than the garage I assume? Just thinking the cu would be better in the house than garage if that's the case...
  14. You get air spaced and foam filled. Especially important to dip the air spaced types in silicon grease like my F plug fitting link or water can get in.

  16. WF100/CT100/PF100 and use silicon grease when fitting the F plugs: http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/fplugs.htm
  17. Just the odd Welsh plumber eh? Emphasis on the "odd"!
  18. The wall tiles here sit down on the floor tiles with a grout rammed, 1mm gap. Once grouted I assume a have to run a bead of silicon around where wall meets floor. What sort of size should this be? Thanks.
  19. 9 left to cut 'n stick then grout time!
  20. You could ask over on UK White Goods.
  21. https://www.aquaflowproducts.co.uk/impeller-wheel/ ?
  22. Ah! So it's a surface thing. I was more worried about it threatening your garage walls / foundations.
  23. Cherry? I've an unkempt cherry tree here that's lifting cast in situ patio slabs! If you keep them trimmed does that stop the roots spreading too?
