  1. Just watched the time lapse and vids. With hindsight eh??? That was going the way it went all day long. It was slanted and weighted that way. The wedge the opposite side just helped it. The rope did jack, presume it snapped? Lesson learnt etc. Glad now that Amazon cancelled my order for a bargain chainsaw recently! ?
  2. "That was mega Joules!" - Jamie Oliver
  3. As in Confucius said?
  4. Job for my pallet buster? It's painted now!
  5. Just got a Zero 1.3 recently but with the soldered header: Along with a breakout board: The boy is FINALLY getting down to doing my mates "Knight Rider" lights with ultra bright LEDs inset into his block paving under the sliding gate. I can cope all day long with the hardware side but the Python is beyond me. Suppose I should learn...
  6. Looks like it might have listed a bit...
  7. Well tbf the system does require 6kW of POWER input or 6kWh of ENERGY. He clearly meant power... +1 on the pedantic bit.
  8. I believe that without a buffer tank the boiler can suffer from short cycling?
  9. I thought WTF at first with my Geberit stuff (WC frame, flush plate, wall drain). (Still don't like the way they mix mm & cm). Takes a few reads but once you "get it" you'll be impressed at the simplicity and just bloody good design.
  10. Hand dredging your lake maybe or "man in the water" when you lay the GSHP loop?
  11. Easy fix...ever heard the term "cordwood"? Its a wall made from logs on edge. You could even wedge that cold one in and save a trip to the bottle bank!
  12. Cheap here. Tbh you should be buying a spare methinks: https://www.homelava.com/en-kitchen-faucets-sb15-pi1-c73.htm
  13. I think we know what @Patrick is getting for Christmas: ? On a serious note I really hope you were conscious of who was in neighbouring gardens when that came down. Consequences could have been horrendous. I'd be thinking a small scaffold tower and somebody who knows what they're doing with a chainsaw. What's that about 18" dia? Who's wall is it that got damaged btw?
  14. I'd be fitting an REC (isolation switch) myself for them to connect to: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/WYREC2S.html Probably easier for you to get: https://www.screwfix.com/p/wylex-100a-dp-isolator-with-enclosure/321fr They don't all sing from the same hymn sheet is the issue. Around here if you talk on the phone they ask for an "INCERT" to be available aka an Electrical Installation Certificate. The lads who turn up never ask. Offer of teas, coffee and a plate of nice biscuits should help.
  15. Mines quite noisy I think at 31dB, but it's in and has pretty blue lights...must take the label off and paint over / wipe off the paw prints... Only a stop gap until MVHR...so likely permanent then! ?
  16. 120m asl here...but in the bottom of a valley! Posted before but the road at the bottom of my drive when it really rains:
  17. Wow! Is that a real picture?
  18. Being accurate the units recover heat rather than retain it. The outgoing warm, moist air runs over a heat exchanger and warms the incoming cold air.

    Gate Pillars

99%. Needs - mirror, - bog roll dispenser, - toothbrush charger. - cupboard shelving and lighting in cupboard - UFH - Body dryer That'll have to wait. Off to design/make a "Bricky" esque jig to clamp/slide up the 100mm box section to lay the bricks with and keep exact 10mm mortar joints. ...I'm not joking.

    Gate Pillars

Going to make a start on the pillars! Going 4:1 soft sand/cement with Everbuild Integral Waterproofer in the water at the correct ratio.
  21. SWMBO just found the box of ride on mower parts I thought I'd thrown out when the MiL passed away recently. Remember doing a few trips to the tip in a brain fog and could have sworn I accidentally dumped the bits! Reminds me, must order brake pads!
  22. Made in India I think the parts are, they bought all the tooling or something? Just two spanner sizes to maintain them isn't it, and even come with the spanner!
  23. @AnonymousBosch...did I not send you that idiot's guide to welding bible as a PDF? Or did I offer but you didn't come back to me? PM me an email address if you want it. Well worth a read. It will give you a great head start. Edit: You have pm, bedtime reading!
