Indemnity insurance on new build
joe90 replied to joe90's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
Mine was good, examined everything, only thing he didn’t ask for was figures for the MVHR (which is still not done yet but I copied Jeremy’s figures on a spread sheet ?) -
yes insulate it a little but £10k will buy you an awful lot of electricity to keep it warm.

Indemnity insurance on new build
joe90 replied to joe90's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
that’s why building control visit to make sure it’s done right. I still do not understand if a building is done to regs (or better) why another form of certificate is required. -
Depends on your circumstances, I lived on my own whilst working on our build and didn’t mind slumming it, however with family it is a different ball game IMO, horses fir courses.
-
some appear to be able too, even Jeremy struggled with his controller and we have the same unit and controller (so I stand no chance ?).
-
This has been talked about before but can’t find it or remember the outcome. As I only have building regulations approval on my new build if I sell can anyone recommend a company who does indemnity insurance that will satisfy a mortgage company?
-
well I have just dug the manual out fir mine and can confirm only one water temp programable , so I am glad I have a buffer with a stat set to 35 and a blending valve down to 24.
-
hopefully @MarcelHoldinga can set different temps for heating and DHW (unlike me).
-
-
Yes as said above no blending valve so the temp of the ASHP water goes into the floor, you did say you could reduce the heating temp so I think this is the way to go.
-
Any chance of a pic?
-
@MarcelHoldinga so you have no blending valve on your manifold?

Heating design, calcs and process - ASHP/UFH

that is why I have digital thermometers in most rooms to prove the temp is still 21’, 22’ despite what your (her) body tells you ?♂️ -
you mean @pocster ?

oops, misconception. Our last house, a temporary one, was awful, no insulation, thin concrete walls but because the radiators got very hot it gave the illusion of being warm (as long as the heating was on 24/7). -

yes, my other half mentions it “not being very warm” a fair bit but I have put digital thermometers in most rooms to point out its 21 or 22’, she is used to radiators giving her radiated heat (even if the air is cold) and it’s a different ball game. Everyone that visits comments on how warm it is and the heating has not come on yet this year!!! -
Yes, my ASHP will only deliver one temp and that’s set to 48’ to satisfy DHW therefore I have a buffer tank (indirect) which is heated to 35’ and then UFH manifold blends this down to 24’ to heat the slab.
-
with my ASHP system the hot water from the heating buffer tank is set to 35’ but at the manifold it’s blended down to 24’, this stops heating over shooting , does yours have a blending valve?
-
yes but surely only when the stats are calling fir heat?. Mine is on 24/7 but room stat has not called fir heat since last winter ?.
