Yes, foam that nearly full leaving 20mm fir pointing. Save holding a big hawk I sometimes use a bucket trowel to hold the mix and thin trowel to push it in.
-
I would use one of these with a hawk. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THIN-NARROW-FINGER-TUCK-POINTING-POINTER-TOOL-JOINTING-TROWEL-BRICK-LAYING-14A/331402965074?epid=1743515516&hash=item4d2927f052:g:HkEAAOSwaNBUfd~o

.........breaking news, talks to continue........
-
Yes, that’s my point. Problem is consumers pay tariffs, governments collect tariffs so a balancing has to be done somehow, still perhaps the tariffs received will help pay fir the coronavirus borrowing ?.
-
I would just point it up and if there is a significant void fill with foam, it’s very old, keep it looking that way. +1, point it up and leave till summer when it’s lovely and dry then make you’re mind up about painting ?
-
Probably, but no one mentions what the EU will have to pay.!
-
Just watched Andrew Marr and he started the programme by saying he would look at the impact of no deal on both sides but despite talks of taffiffs being bad for the UK no mention of the tariffs to be paid by the EU ?.

Treatment unit sizing - professionals disagreeing!
joe90 replied to Randomusername's topic in Waste & Sewerage
yes that is what I have read/understood. However I was told a 3 bed house (which we have) should be counted as 6 person (three double beds!!,) I would read that as 9 person (but I have not read the above doc) but does “single bedroom” mean a Single bed as in fir one person?? Or a one bed annexe? -
ASHP, UFH and solar thermal, or ASHP, UFH and MVHR????
joe90 replied to Dicky's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Yes but as long as it’s designed and installed properly, there are plenty of people dissatisfied with ASHP but only if it’s not designed and installed properly (I designed and installed my own, so not rocket science!). -

I am another with ASHP for UFH and DHW, like @ProDave I heat my water to 48’ with a larger tank, washing dishes you cannot keep your hand under the hot Tap when running!!!. And baths and showers are more than hot enough. generally yes, but when you get to good insulation levels the airtightness becomes more important and not expensive to do, just takes an eye to detail, lots of threads here about it. we tend to open windows in the summer so I switch the MVHR off!. In the winter the windows stay shut and waste heat is saved. A previous member here (@jeremy) his wife wanted windows open but by measuring air quality he proved to her that the MVHR was much more efficient in giving good air quality by a factor of 5 than opening windows. you don’t need to save heat if the weather is good, most have a summer bypass anyway so heat is not returned to the house!!! -
It’s mostly grass currently (apart from the grass seeds that have drowned ?), I am looking at fast growing stuff so I can enjoy it in MY lifetime! And stuff that likes clay and damp ?. I am making raised beds from my scaffold planks for veg behind the garage where there is no top soil and only clay.

it’s so he can charge it whilst bathing ?
-
so he can be on the forum whilst having a bath!, it’s no wonder it all takes so long to finish, he is here on the forum all the time ?

And the floor needs tiling! And the skirting, and the toilet, etc etc ?

Laying pine floorboards - is this ok to do?
joe90 replied to AlanUK's topic in Wood & Laminate Flooring
yes, as you have yet to plasterboard or do skirting the nails/screws won’t be seen. If they will then just make 20mm spacers out of scrap on the joists to keep it away from the wall and not move while you fix the boards. -
