  1. If I serve a Deemed Discharge of Planning Conditions on my LPA for an application made 8 months ago can I also ask for a refund of fees paid because of lack of response within the 12 week period ??
  2. Or put a skip at the new house and transport junk across.
  3. Never was a truer word written.
  4. Can't you just tell them you have moved in with the inlaws, Just get your mail sent there and father in law can scan anything important and email it to you.
  5. As @PeterW, do not use silicone as that will not accept paint
  6. @jamiehamy. Thanks, I'd be very interested to know how it has held up. Did you cover it after pouring or just leave it exposed to the elements??
  7. Not an expert by any means but I would say No to 1 & 2 , Yes to 3, 4 & 5.
  8. @Russell griffiths. Initially I was going to pour the slab myself. I then realised that I will need to pump some of it in due to the distance from where the wagon can get to. At this point I did a search for local pump hire companies and found a set up about 60 miles away from me who do a pump and lay service. I got a quote from them and they were just within an acceptable bracket so I think I will just pass it over to them. They use Breedonflow self compacting concrete so the levels, in theory, should be spot on. I have used Kore for the insulated slab materials and have done all the preparation works myself. I hired a 3 ton mini digger to dig out and got the spoil removed by a grab lorry, lots cheaper than skip hire. I then had 10 deliveries of 20 ton loads of stone to spread and lay along with 18 tons of blinding before laying Kore's system.
  9. Thanks for all of the replies. Unfortunately Jeremy I don't have access to straw and the sort of problems Jack has encountered are exactly what I am trying to avoid as this will be the finished surface. It looks like I will will just have to try and be patient and wait for milder weather to return as suggested by RG and Mr Punter Thanks again.
  10. Has anyone poured their Kore Passive Slab in the sort of weather we are currently having, i.e. generally falling below 0c on a night time?? Mine has been ready to pour for a number of weeks now but I have held off and held off because I obviously don't want it to freeze. Only problem is this is very frustrating as I feel time is slipping by when I could be getting the walls up. I'd guess the fact that it is encased in EPS negates a lot of the cold weather issue but the surface could still be affected, would covering with sacking and then tarpaulin be enough to negate this risk??
  11. Hmmm, very good. I was going to install a bidet but these look better. Being Yorkshire I think I will have to rename it though, how's Shitoff sound ??
  12. So these basically take the place of a bidet??
  13. Got to say that what is finished looks very nice, but what isn't finished has a fair way to go, and by the photo's I don' think there was ever a hope of being in for Chrimbo. Just more to look forward to next year
  14. @ProDave Thank you
  15. Which is the better pipe layout for the lounge / hallway. Ignore the silly direct run to the manifold Edit And ignore the manifold position on the second plan
  16. A tog is 0.1 m2K/W. In other words, the thermal resistance in togs is equal to ten times the temperature difference (in °C) between the two surfaces of a material, when the flow of heat is equal to one watt per square metre.
  17. I very much agree with you on the school run traffic, it's equally as bad up here. But I think the cause of this is fewer schools with larger pupil numbers, the problem of the fewer schools means kids have far further to travel than we ever did and obviously the larger numbers just makes everything worse.
  18. True, so it was worth it
  19. Well the outcome was that they eventually accepted an offer. I was able to get all of £10.00 knocked off the price, hardly worth the effort is it
  20. Thanks for all the replies, I've made an offer so we'll see what happens. I also checked that they will supply a VAT receipt. Also following on from @Nickfromwales earlier advice I've managed to pick up a pipe de-coiler for £70.00.
  21. Hmmm, interesting. At the price of that link it is definitely cheaper per metre than Hep2o but can you manage to get 15mm fittings onto a 16mm pipe with no issues??.
  22. So I've asked before regarding best type of pipe. @Nickfromwales kindly replied with the answer Pex-Al-Pex. Is there any reason to avoid something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Underfloor-heating-pipe-PEX-AL-PEX-pipe-16mm-x-2mm-300m-rolls-WRAS-approved/322223143087?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49479%26meid%3Ddcb95cc1cca74692a819a55a8d47820a%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D222215058922&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 I assume there are different qualities available but if it is WRAS approved does this indicate that it should be ok??
  23. I'm just at the stage of being (almost) ready to pour the concrete for my passive slab. Similar to @Calvinmiddle I dug out the soil and then put back 150 tons of stone. All I need now is some decent weather (not freezing) so I can get on with it.
  24. Heat and pressure?? My understanding was that the Atterberg test was a plasticity test so neither of the above needed. Then again I could have got it wrong
  25. I think you are in the same general area as myself, i.e. Yorkshire. I used White Rose Laboratory Services Ltd in Castleford. They were very reasonable cost wise, £45.00 + VAT and got the result back to me within 1 week as promised. I did drop off the sample myself to make things easier but I,m sure you could do the same.
