  1. Concrete interlocking tiles will be a much easier job than slate.
  2. You will need something to screw the dry ridge to. You level of the top of the point of your truss and screw 50*50 along your length of roof. This gives you something to screw the clips that hold the tiles on to. Same goes with the dry verge kit don't cut the battens short. What about any valleys?? The new type of breathable felt is very strong so you won't put your foot through it. Should only be walking on the battens. Don't forget to make sure your scaffolding is high enough with enough handrails to stop you if you happen to to or fall. A tool belt with a pouch for nails will be a massive help. Are you doing this all yourself??? If so chalk line is handy for setting out your battens.
  3. That ain't a pretty setup. As your unit is installed in a cold roof all them ducts should have insulation over them at the very least. The inlet and and outlet are fine without it but any duct serving a room needs to be covered or you will get condensation in it. Can you show a pic of the distribution box where all the ducts join up??? The actual unit would need wrapping in insulation as well. What is the Y connector doing in that pic??
  4. Plenty of room to move for A down a bit. Can you put the ensuite door on the other wall so both doors aren't as close.
  5. We knocked down a few walls in my old house and burst into the cavity. Was finding white balls for months afterwards. They get everywhere.
  6. Think the old stuff had sank and left voids which would give you a cold spots on the wall and would then lead to condensation settling here leading onto damp and mould.
  7. You buy all the tobermore or Ag materials through a builders merchant. They like it that way as it means they are never out of pocket. They both have very large showrooms with massive display areas at both their factories here but most builders merchants or garden centres also have smaller displays as well. For a retaining wall I doubt there is an easier method , I haven't came across one yet. No concrete needed for a found and they don't need plastered up to finish them. Do no merchants near you stock them or can get them ordered in for you.
  8. Cause we are obviously world leaders in all this kind of stuff!!! We have an abundance of quarries so stone, sand and cement is cheap so a lot of concrete products get made here.
  9. Nice looking pad. You didn't mention your missus was an expert shuffler!!!
  10. Not just do it with dwarf kerbs to suit whatever height you need. Can get them 2ft high and there not that heavy to lift. A bag of ballast and some cement and bed them and that's it. Put a gd amount behind the kerb and then backfill. Will last longer than any sleeper or scaffolding plank.
  11. Anybody got the money from nie for their solar panel generation yet. I am up £115 from last year's total. Don't want to blow it incase they have paid out to much and want some back.
  12. Happy days get them into the council to get that big passed stamp on them as soon as.
  13. Think you might have to just use a lintel and accept the fact you will see the underneath. @DeeJunFan did you try Wilson's reclamation yard on the A1 to see if they had a granite post to suit 3m. If you can get one long enough then you could put a lintel above as mentioned already.
  14. I used a concrete lintel on the door opening and used the corner bits of my cladding to cover the bottom. For the wrap around window I had to use a steel catnic but again used the corner bits to hide the steel underneath. If you really want the seamless look of a granite post them use a catnic and have a join in the middle but to make it look a bit more fancy use a keystone granite piece in the middle. Or I know a guy who could make you one out of brick that even does writing on it!! @Construction Channel
  15. A 65mm/100mm pre stressed concrete would carry that no bother many times over.
  16. One like this http://m.builderdepot.co.uk/concrete-lintel-textured-pre-stressed-65mm-x-100mm-x-1200mm.html
  17. The melted cheese bits with jalapenos covered in nacho crumbs in mcds are the tasty thing in there at the moment. Just on the right side of scalding your lip and a burst of holy Jesus fcuk that's hot.
  18. They ferment lava and dye it green. Near lost the family alliance when the filling hit my lap a while back.
  19. Don't think I would trust Sheldon with a chop saw.
  20. Part of the money Arlene got yesterday is to make our broadband a world leading standard. Didn't say which world though.
  21. I put the steels in for my wrap around window. Only had to show the spec sheet for the L shape steel catnic to BC. He just looked at the support post and seen it was heavy wall box section and went on his way.
  22. I have a metal 50 gallon drum that I use to burn any stuff I need. I cut it down let it dry out then burn it. Had a fire going most of yesterday.
  23. That the pain has stopped. 2 long years of nearly killing myself took its toll on my back, knees , elbows and every other joint. Now it doesn't take 5 mins to get out of bed and straighten up. I can sit out the back now in this great weather and finally enjoy living in it.
  24. Yeah I have sampled the afore mentioned goods and can confirm after numerous tasting sessions that they are of good quality. I am fully prepared to undertake more tests if the need arises.
  25. Their yogurts, cheese and the fresh baked breads are really good. Same goes for the tinned chicken soup. For the alcos the gin, white rum and captain Morgan's rip of are very nice.
