  1. Go round to your neighbours and tell that that no further work is permitted untill they have a Party wall agreement in place.
  2. Raz. Dis you sign those letters and send them back ?
  3. It may be that the neighbour is doing the work under permitted developement rights. However, even if they were, (and therefore did not require planning permission) They would have no right to interfere with your property without your express agreement. If the wall is a party wall, and shared between both properties then they would have rights, but they would need a party wall agreement (This is drawn up by a specialist at your neighbours cost). It sounds like there is no such agreement in place. I would write directly to your neighbour, and send a copy to there architect stating that no further work is permitted untill a Party wall agreement is in place..... If the builder tries to talk to you, tell him to bugger off, and let him know that you are holding him responsible for the damage caused to your property.
  4. I don't know, but you have to do something now because you have splashed up the side of your existing shed you messy sod
  5. Over to the neighbours via the fence.......I expect that a lot of it already is. Am i right in saying that under 15square mt's, SUDS don't come into play ? However over 15square mt'S has to either drain onto your own land, or be suds compliant ?
  6. Welcome. Ask as many questions as you like. I like to think that the people on this forum are a very smart bunch of folks, with a bit of fun added in for good measure. However, be wary of people trying to sell you walk on glazing. Unless you actually need some, in which case we have just the chap.
  7. Best of luck with the Covid, and the shed extension. In 10 days you could have written most of that book.
  8. Fair play Pocster. You are shite at solweld. That we all know.
  9. Tell it like it is Faz. "Total Bollocks" Spot on fella.
  10. I used to run a bespoke furniture company for 20 years. unfortunately bespoke means a lot of additional cost over standard "we know exactly what we are doing stuff". I still have a lot of contacts if you want to send be over your drawings.
  11. in my expierence expanding foam can easily bend a upc frame. I have done it myself on a 2 mt tall window. A level and a straight edge will allow you to see if the frame has been bent.
  12. I bet. do you think you might have any recorse to the supplier ?
  13. Make your design more simple, and cheaper to build. You will be thankful in the end. Planners should have to be more specific though. If you are not in a conservation area than we should be able to introduce new styles to a street scene. My local planner wants everything to look like it was built in the 1930's. So although houses could be built 90+ years apart, they would all look the same...... That in my opinion is shite. London is not all a replica of St Pauls is it.
  14. Personally, i am not keen on the design, and i think it looks like an expensive and pain in the butt build. However, the planning officer is a typical tosser. As has been said if there is no particular street scene than what is the problem ? His own view. IMO he should not be allowed a view. It either meets policies or it don't.
  15. Must have been the posher part of Harrow, perhaps Harrow on the Hill ?
  16. Unfortunately, decorating seems to be one of those trades that if you own a paint brush, you can call yourself One. I have seen some shocking work from people who i know have been doing it for years. Post some pics, lets have a look.
  17. What is going on. Yesterday i got quoted £700 for a 20 ton load of pea shingle. I was shocked to say the least. Is that really the price these days.
  18. Post caps look great fella.
  19. Or be really flash and put the machines behind a pocket door unit. Personally, if not in the kitchen leave them on show.
  20. Looks poor. I could not live with paying for that.
  21. With a bit of luck then you will be able to get the signature on the fag packet. Best of luck.
  22. Just to add, if you are not building on the boundary, or attempting to attach to your neighbours property, and are just doing foundations within 3 meters of his. What is your ground like ? How near are you digging? Why did his footings have to be strengthened ?
  23. Get him to sign something......if he won't you should be able to get a Party wall surveyor to sort it within your timescale if your quick.... That is unless he does not like what the surveyor awards. In that case you will have to appoint and pay for a second surveyor......When the second surveyor and the first surveyor don't agree, you will have to appoint a third surveyor, and you can then forget about digging holes till next year. For somebody wanting to do it all properly, you have left it a bit late to get sorted.
  24. IMO you have no choice now but to speak to your neighbour and get him to scribble on the back of a fag packet that he is fine about you digging near his property. If he is not so keen then get your wallet out for a party wall surveyor. You would have been better to have just dug it on Day One. Concreted it on day Two, and pretended that you thought that you were only going as deep as there footings. That ship has sailed now.
  25. Throw out all the junk that you will have in there and put in a very old shagged out armchair. Get in there and write a book. The new film studio that is going to be built in Herfordshire will be looking for new material, and they say that we all have One book in us.
