  1. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. My partner and I want to install wall panelling that covers 3/4 vertically of a wall. We'd like to run a floating shelf along the top of the panelling so we can rest pictures, pots, decorations, etc. What would be the best way to install the shelf? Thanks, Adam
  2. That sounds good - thanks! Is there any site that you'd recommend or links? And what's a blue engineer?
  3. We're having a single course short rectangular brick wall laid in our garden to act as a flower bed. What would be a good type of top bed to finish off the wall (I think it might be called coping) and can anyone recommend where to buy it from in London? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the advice. I don't think I will bother with sealer then in that case if people don't think it's worth it
  5. That's interesting. The patio is made of concrete council slab pavers and brick paving blocks. We were looking to seal to add waterproofing and give it a finished look
  6. To add more detail, the patio consists of paver blocks and paver slabs (council) and is approximately 5m long by 2m wide. It's laid on a cement base and has been joint filled with kiln dried sand. I've cleaned it with brick cleaner and I'm now looking to put some sort of seal/waterproofer down to make the patio look finished
  7. Hi, We've just had a patio laid and we wondered what the best product was to seal it? Can someone recommend something? Thanks!

  9. Thank you so much for your suggestion. We will try that as the edge blocks are on sand. I managed to replace a broken brick in the middle of the patio quite easily myself with a screwdriver and a chisel to prise it up and we relaid the shed base (on the left side with the large pavers) as the level was way off so I think we can probably do this ourselves Will send pictures if we manage to resolve it
  10. There is no drain on the other side. Only a neighbour's garden
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions. Which type of blocks are designed to drain? Can you send some examples?
  12. The builder has done a terrible job so we'd rather not get him back tbh. I like the idea of taking out a block and filling with gravel although it is a bodge like you say How would we go about resetting it? Do we just need to remove some of the sand to create a slight incline towards the fence?
  13. There is no drain and I think the patio wasn't meant to fall this way.. it just happened. The contractor has done a bad job in levelling and we've had to correct some issues ourselves (with the exception of this issue). There is no drain at the moment and on the other side of the fence is a neighbours garden
  14. Thanks for the reply! Do the blocks need to be lifted then? Can a drain not be installed to go into the soil underneath or does that not work?
