  1. 4" thick with 30mm stones? I think you'll see a lot of gaps (spy holes) between the stones. This maybe the effect your after of course but if not then go up to 6" as that should eliminate most "spy holes"
  2. The double end hooked wires are going to need to be plentiful i think, probable at most 200mm apart to stop bulging. Maybe a good idea to alternate the spacing of the hooks to also reduce chances of bulging. Trying 4-600mm depth to start with.
  3. Will do for the last 10 🙂
  4. A quick follow up and another door lining question. All the door linings I bought were kits and the headrail had grooves cut in it for the legs/jambs to fit into, which I ended up having to reposition because of the opening widths. Could I just buy planed timber and make up linings? Yes, probably. Do I need the grooves in the headrail?
  5. Don't forget going over budget
  6. You've got the idea - adding to the thread with the start of a myriad of ideas 😅
  7. I just found a lovely use of a zip tie. Couldn't get the bottom screw of the pipe clip in ....
  8. Which require a nut on the other end? Is there another type? I don't want to have to get to the "hidden" side of the glulam beam
  9. Brilliant, that'll do the job
  10. Is he a PM who you have given QC responsibility to as well? If so, 1) get rid and replace if you must have a PM Or 2) renegotiate price to remove QC responsibility and carry on doing it your self If you haven't given them QC responsibility I can understand lack of visits to site.
  11. I don't have any, but treating it as if a first floor balcony
  12. FYI - the glulam beam is wood, of course, 300 x 150 mm, 6m long. On the now hidden side are some web joist every 400mm. And various wires, vent ducting and insulation. Murphy will have placed a joist in the way of at ones set of screws, nuts etc 😁
  13. Yes. Only problem is have with that is having to remove the ceiling the other side of the glulam beam to put the M10 nut and a washer into 🙂 Now looking for M10 tube inserts of a suitable length ((50mm?) for the glulam beam.
  14. We're looking for reasonably priced versions of this style of balustrade (clear, not frosted). It will be fitted to the glulam beam in the following pic Anyone know of anyone, preferably in the South West, but willing to source elsewhere if delivery is reasonable.
  15. As you are in flats, I would say doing something to the concrete floor to lower it is a no-no. So, I think you are limited to a riser kit, and use a shallow waste trap like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-space-saving-shower-waste-white-90mm/513jn?ref=SFAppShare You can cut the waste pipe as you describe, just measure very carefully, offering up the replacement waste trap to check for location. I've just done this myself - attach trap to tray, put a couple of blobs of silicone (or similar) on the bottom of the trap, place the tray carefully into place and allow the trap to touch the floor. Lift it all out again, and you a should see where the silicone touched, showing you where the trap will be. Now take the trap off the tray and work out where that pipe needs to be cut.
  16. I had 3 x 180mm holes drilled, about the same length. IIRC it was about £250. Whatever size you think you need drilled add 10mm, then foam the gaps after fitting the pipe. Don't ask why I know.
  17. It was this bit in brackets that caused my response. Was it the secret police resistance to these or the German population? 🙂
  18. You imply the US have strict privacy laws. You are kidding aren't you? They have the worst regulations related to privacy in the developed world.
  19. The above item includes a link to the hot knife I bought. Not sure if still available
  20. Just thought I'd update what happened It's old wood from a dismantled railway viaduct
  21. I got a hot knife which a blade you could bend to suitable shape, then cut channels for round conduit through which the wires were then fed. I'll be back with a link
